We've just booked rooms at the Grand Floridian for Sept of 09. We're an extended family group (grandparents, mom and dad with 4 year girl and infant (don't know what he/she will be at this point unknown:)).

Granddaughter will be celebrating her 4th birthday during the week we're there any special perks for her?

Also, we would love to do Princess meals but are hearing horror stories of having to book 180 days out and even then not sure we'll get the venue we want. Any tips?

Thanks in advance.

Make sure they know about her birthday when you make your reservations and she just may find a little something special in the room after check in.
Get her a Birthday pin from Guest Services in the parks and she will more than likely get a ton of birthday wishes and maybe some other perks. make sure they know it's her birthday when you make those birthday ADR's. We had dinner with the Princesses at Akershus in Norway in EPCOT (all meals there are princess meals) and we were basically a walk up. The Castle seems to be the hardest to get into so why not try Akershus.

There are so many special things you can do. Yes, book 180 days in advance for any and all reservations that you would like to make. I called on my 180th day at 7:30 a.m. EST and they had already booked the Liberty Tree Dining Dinner for Thanksgiving. Amazing! So yes, plan ahead and book early!

As for something special - Bibbity Bobbity Boo Salon - she can be made to be a princess!! Check out the posts for the 2009 Birthday celebrations and there are lots of ideas there - decorating the room or getting a cake. Basically, if you can think it, Disney can do it.

I have been to Cinderella's Table for Dinner and it was really great. I have also been to Akerhaus for dinner where the princesses are and it is easier to get into and the food for dinner was not to my liking and I am an adult. If you choose Akerhaus at Epcot, I would try for Breakfast.

Have fun! What a special birthday this will be!

If you have a little extra cash, check out www.disneyflorist.com and possibly have something delivered to her room on her birthday. They have lots of fun Disney things for kids of all ages. I hope you enjoy planning your trip--that is to me just as much fun as being in Disney!

Consider dining at GF. 1900 Park Fare has some princesses, I know Cinderella is there for dinner. If memory serves, Mary Poppins and Alice in Wonderland characters are at breakfast
