Without an IP, you're not getting a South America land.

Antonio's magical room is a portal to South American rainforest fauna. Actual animals. Not talking lions. Or mythical mountain monsters. It'd be the only other ride about actual living animals. Heck, it could be a gateway to a second safari trip through an actual South American 'zoo.'
This. A ride set within Antonio’s room would indeed fit quite well for DAK.

One of the oft told stories about the approval for Disney’s Animal Kingdom was Joe Rohde bringing a tiger to a meeting. The intrinsic power of nature was itself an exciting and compelling idea, it didn’t need more to be interesting

It's been beaten into my head, from these boards, many times - those days are over.

So if you're gonna get an IP anyways....COLOMBIAAAAA!!!!!!!!

And why wouldn't I want Disney to build me Casa Madrigal? or let me visit the world of Coco? What's so wrong with wanting to be able to experience a magic house or visit what's beyond the Marigold Bridge? It's pure fantasy, magic and if anyone could bring it to life, it would be Imagineers. And if done well, it will stand the test of time and become it's own attraction/land/area/whatever, have life beyond the movie. Just like Pandora.

Of course maybe it doesn't belong in AK, and IP doesn't need to be injected into everything, but to be against wanting to be able "visit" the places that we see in the movies, just for a little while,...well, what the heck is it all for then?

There's a reason Universal is so popular and I'm willing to bet a big part of it's because so many people wanted to be able to visit Hogwarts or Hogsmeade in "real life". It's fun.

Universal has never been the cultural icon of a Disneyland, a Magic Kingdom or EPCOT Center.

Okay.
Well, I guess thank god for that because otherwise we would never be able to walk through Diagon Alley.

I too loved EPCOT Center. I got to ride Horizons the year it opened and it actually changed little 10 year old me. But loving that doesn't preclude me from wanting to enjoy a magic house too.

anyways, none of this will happen, so back to whatever you guys were discussing before I interjected with South America.

That's fine. Do it in Epcot.
or let me visit the world of Coco?
That's fine. Do it in Epcot.

Nothing. Do it in Epcot.
It's pure fantasy, magic
Which is why it doesn't work in AK.
and if anyone could bring it to life, it would be Imagineers.
In Epcot.

Correct..... But in Epcot.
Of course maybe it doesn't belong in AK,
Correct. It belongs in Epcot.

Correct.

That's what HS and MK are for... And Epcot, now I guess... Don't turn AK into the IP dump land that is Epcot and HS. It has a lot of integrity still.

I don't understand this one.

Harry Potter.

That's the only major thing they has going for them.
It's fun.
And it makes sense in their parks.... Encanto doesn't, in Animal Kingdom. Two totally different parks for two totally different experiences.

I've cancelled my pitch meeting. You're in the free and clear.

(oh and "well, what the heck is it all for then?" meant, for me anyways, why make movies if they don't make the viewer want to be able to see these places, have that power, be a Jedi, be a princess, stay on a starcruiser....visit a magic house!!!)

Cool... Just put it in the right park.

Goodness. I mean, I can understand wanting to preserve the thematic purity of each park, but it seems weird to be so militant about keeping it out of Animal Kingdom while suggesting it show up in EPCOT instead.
Epcot is already destroyed. As well as Hollywood Studios. At least Animal Kingdom still has a fighting chance to stay decent.
