Actually, I don't mean to sound like I'm downplaying it. For those of us who spend a lot of time here, the increase in our PM boxes and the Premium Members Lounge are more than worth the $5 a month that we pay to Steve

It is worth 5 times that in my opinion...supporting this great site and getting to talk about the "normal" members behind their backs in the premium lounge is just pricless...

LoL...nah..its not that bad...its more of an "adult" lounge..and a LOT of our "inside" jokes will make a LOT more sence once you start reading the stuff we post there....
oh..and I forgot to mention the Premium member exclusives which are only viewable to those who support the site (in fact I think some of your contributions would be GREAT additions there)
I am considering becoming Premium....I would do anything to help support WDW Magic...but frankly, I can't afford it! Heck, I don't have enough money to run Grizzly Hall!

I start this message with a cautionary note. Please don't misunderstand me. The problem I see with being a premium member, is that it seems to be very much like a high school click. If you're not "with it" you're not invited. Also, I have a real problem with any club that would accept me as a member!

It's not by invitation, James.... Anyone who pays the $5 is a premium member.... It's just that most of the regulars here joined to help defray Steve's costs, since we seem to eat most of the bandwidth.
How is that like a high school clique? It's more like price club--you got the cash, you're a member.

Also, James, maybe you don't realize this, but the site costs Steve a lot of money every month out of his own pocket. Add to that the time involved, and we're talking about a serious investment of resources. He told us over the summer that without help, he'd have to shut down.... We made some contributions, but then, the next month... he didn't get very much. So he had to choose: offer the premium memberships to pay for the site, or shut down. If you look, you'll see he actually discussed his proposal and let us have input before he instituted it, and we agreed. Please note that the content on the main site is still "free" to everyone. He didn't put that under premium access--he did, at our request mind you, give us another board to fill up with useless chatter and the freedom to post sound files and other things that take up more space as part of our contribution. If you don't want to help support the site, that's fine. You can still post on the forums, you can still check out the content on the main site.
But to be honest, to call those of us who help keep the site running through our financial contributions "cliqueish" is unfair, and to me, a little insulting. I hate to say it, but because of those of us who do pay, you can enjoy the site for no charge.
And I'm speaking for myself, so please don't object to my comments to anyone but me.
