Predictions on when evening hours and nighttime shows can resume?

They won't wait for a vaccine or when it's "safe".

They will bring them back to boost attendance and food & beverage sales if the rebound isn't as soon as the company wants.

There will be fireworks by next summer. Other local and regional theme parks have shown that fireworks shows can be done in a socially distant manner.
Like SWO July 4th Weekend and this Weekend for After Hours Drive In Movie Nights!

Would like to see TDO/UOR get creative like SWO.

As for for SSL, wasn't FITS in SSL when WDW opened?

As they should. I wish you people would realize

SeaWorld again proves how much better they are with nighttime shows than Disney by providing nighttime entertainment for guests! Cannot wait to see the new show.
I love SWO but Disney wins on a "normal" Summer Day! SWO def. beat UOR this July 4th!!! IDK why the other 2 can't figure out COVID Pyro! I'm not asking for a normal Main Street HEA. That wouldn't work now, but SWO did think of some way!

MK fireworks are very castle centered now. The only firework show that would work to be seen from around the park would be Fantasy in the Sky! with not castle pyro. Even then, people are want to see the fireworks in front of the castle.

DHS old shows would work if they piped the audio to outside the park and could be viewed from the parking lot in cars, but SW:GE and the new pyro set up on the Chinese theater wont let that happen.

SWO did the right thing and inform guests where to view the fireworks around the park and give several options. Their fireworks work from any angle and don't need a castle in front of them.

USO: They could use their newish WOC style show and seating area, but their old shows (that are all over the lagoon) would work better.
Island could do a small show in the lagoon, but vital viewing areas that used to be available, are not anymore.

Ignite is better than any show Disney offers. Anyone who says otherwise has no taste. I have not seen the new show, so I have no idea if it's as good
I've said on here before that if you give Ignite HEA's Soundtrack...... BEST Show in Orlando!!!!!

They tried this before at DHS to disastrous results, I don’t think the night time shows are gone for good. Without those shows a whole lot of people are going to leave late afternoon and eat somewhere else (like offsite or best case DS but Disney doesn’t directly own most of those restaurants.) I think it’s going to take awhile (probably 2021 unless a vaccine happens) but they’ll be back.
This is true. The night shows were never altruistic in nature for the benefit of a better guest experience, they were always intended to keep people in the parks until evening spending money on dinner (including dining packages), shopping and mickey ice cream bars. Not to mention all the light up stuff the vendors sell to kids. The MK and to a lesser extent EPCOT shows also help sell park hopper tickets. Without night shows less people feel the need to hop to MK at night or to EPCOT for dinner and the show.

I believe the shows will be back if/when capacity and distancing limits are lifted. An outdoor crowd in masks watching fireworks isn’t the most risky proposition. If requirements ease up and demand also picks up they will be back. I’d say not this year though. Sometime in 2021, probably summer but if theres a successful vaccine in Q1 possibly by Spring Break. Depending on demand I could see them scaling back seasonally to several days a week for a while. Fantasmic was not running every night a few years back in the less busy season but they ran it twice a night in summer and holiday weeks. I think EPCOT needs a nightly show every night and MK needs it’s fireworks and castle show. I could see RoL and Fantasmic being less consistent.

I think the shows do offer a better experience!!!! Guests do enjoy them and the shows do have their fans(ROE, Spectro, SWW Pyro, etc, anyone?) Mix Magic I think we can all do without and I could see some people having a problem with EF even through I like it.

Interesting! I like that Statement/Opion!! Could we get to that not too far off?? Is it the same with Parades?

We the fans (and general public) like nightshows, it’s been demonstrated time and time again and we stay to see them.

Fireworks are expensive, the shows are by far the most expensive line item on the budget. Disney does not do those shows out of the goodness of their heart, thankfully these beloved shows have been shown to drive spending time and time again.

I actually think ROE suffered in its last year because HEA was a vastly superior and popular show then Wishes, and frankly in my opinion ROE. Before HEA, ROE was the best regular night show on property But afterwards it was second fiddle.

I agree that they do provide a better guest experience but I was trying to say they aren’t done just for that purpose. They have a true economic positive benefit outside of making guests more happy. Adding RoL to AK and the night time tree stuff and the other entertainment was a good example. It kept people there into the evening and they spent money on dinner and possibly shopping and snacks too. Having a day time parade at MK adds to guest experience but lacks any tangible economic benefit outside of increasing overall guest satisfaction and keeping people coming back for more.

On the parades and fireworks front I think it seems like outdoor gatherings, especially with masks and some attempt at physical distancing, are less risky than some other activities. If there’s one thing all the recent protests have shown us it’s that large outdoor gatherings are not guaranteed to result in major spikes in cases and Disney has the ability to do outdoor shows in a safer and more organized manner than any protest rally. I think an outdoor fireworks show is less problematic than an indoor theater show or even indoor dining. Right now it’s probably more the optics they want to avoid. Pictures of people gathered in a crowd go against their goal of appearing very safe and going above and beyond government requirements. As time goes on I think more focus will be on indoor activities and they may have a chance to bring some outdoor stuff back.

HEA opened on May 12, 2017. Was ROE suffering since then or just in 2019 before it closed, Martin anyone?
