Watching the live news conf with FL Gov, - if you stay in these affected areas , saying storm surge 10-15 feet is life-threatening . But no mention of mandatory evac. . Back in the day prior to a hurricane , Gov. Scott of FL mentioned if you don't evac and you are in a mandatory evac zone, you need to write your SS#1 on your arms so recovery staff can identify you.

Interestingly, GFS originally had it dissipating shortly after a second landfall, but it now has it going through the gulf and possibly strengthening before hitting the other side of the gulf. The models aren’t at all in agreement once it gets into the Atlantic though, so it’s just a interesting possibility as of now.

From this angle, it's easy to see why NC is ranked 4th behind FL, TX, and LA for states with the most tropical systems producing hurricane force winds in the state.

I use tier 1 for radarscope. Radar Omega is fantastic as it has more alerts and down to street names without a subscription

We use Omega, DD14 seems to have an easier time navigating with it. It's come in handy when we're traveling and not familiar wherebouts within counties.
