I am a truly terrible, evil father. My son Ryan (who turns 12 today) is very interested in, but also very afraid of legendary creatures (Big Foot, Loch Ness Monster, Jersey Devil, etc.).

A few months ago we rented a truly terrible movie called: "13th Child - The Legend of The Jersey Devil". I recognized the location where they filmed it, so I told him we could go see it, but he said: "No way!!!"

So when we were on our way to Atlantic City, we stopped by the location but I didn't tell him where we were until we were ready to leave (because I knew as soon as he knew, he'd be running for the car).

We just finally picked up the photos (which were on that old fashioned "film" stuff) and I photoshopped a Jersey Devil into the background (look to the right of the house).

When I showed it to Ryan, his eyes got all big and then he said: "You added this in, didn't you"

I coyly said: "Well, I don't normally like to lie, but if it would make you feel better to know that I added it in, then, yes, I added it in."

I know it's evil, but life's too boring without a little spice, don't you think?

Gary, that's terrible, but in a hilarious sort of way. That house looks awesome! I love reading about weird phenomena such as ghosts and things of that nature, but the first time I ever experienced it, I was speechless, can't even describe anything. It's the kind of feeling where you want to scream at the top of your lungs and your mouth is open wide, but no noise is coming out. Not cool at all. I feel bad for your son that you would do such a thing, yet at the same time, that's something I would do too!

Two things:

1) Ryan looks about a foot taller than the last picture I saw of him!

and

2) Gary, I now think of you as my idol. :lookaroun

He'll be taller than me probably by this time next year (but I can still take him).

You mean you didn't before?!?!:lookaroun

I figure with Ryan's natural abilities and Linda and me for parents, he'll probably either win a Nobel Prize or kill a lot of people with an axe. It's pretty much a toss up at this point which way he'll go.

(If he really works at it, maybe he could do both, but I wouldn't want to put that kind of pressure on the boy)
