Post counts??

I was just curious how some people have about 10,000 or more posts?Every time I post a message in a thread I have already posted in I do not get a number added yet when I post in a new thread I get credit:shrug:.I just ask this cause I was bored its 5am and no one else is posting.If someone has posted in over 10,000 threads multiple times and not got credit then I say Bless you and your poor fingers :ROFLOL: as you might have 35000 posts or more.I know I have been on here alot but maybe just maybe I have posted about 500 times not 270.

Like any other forum, 1 post = 1 post count next to your name. Maybe it's the fact that you don't notice it. However, some of the members that have over 10,000 have been here for years therefore having their post count build up. If they have 10,231 posts, they have 10,231 posts. No more, no less.

The good Captain is correct. Chit Chat posts do not count. It took me a while to figure that out. I was surprised after posting a couple of hundred vacation pics when I saw my post count increase.

That's quite strange. Another forum I go on, does a post count the simple way, all posts go towards it, but pictures and so on, in the gallery, don't.

Well, I learnt something new today.

I tried uploading some of my 2008 pics from Florida and none of them would upload on here.I had uploaded numerous pics from previous trips but these new ones would not.I guess I never really look at what thread a topic is in when I reply as I just click new posts to see all but thanks for the info.It just had me confused.

Post counts mean nothing really. I have tons of them, but a lot have come from playing games and really added nothing to the discussions (though I do contribute on the general boards). Chit Chat posts do not count. Worry more about the accuracy of your posts and adding to the general knowledge or helping people out than the number of posts you have. Being honest and polite and trustworthy are more important. :cool:

Photo albums have a space limit. You may have to delete some photos in order to add new ones or change membership levels to get more storage room. Many people use photo storage sites and then link their pictures in threads.

Along the lines of this, how does your wording under your name change and when? I'm asking as I've recently been "promoted" to "earning my WDW Magic Ears" whereas before I was "Just Joined". Does this change after a certain amount of time or after a certain number of posts?

Once you hit certain post numbers, that will change. I think when you get to 100 it will change again--I think to "member"--and I know when you get to 1,000 you'll be a "senior member." If you were a paid subscriber, you could change that to whatever you wanted, no matter the number of posts. (i.e. "Recipe Hunter" ;) )

As a side note, how do you get custom titles below your username? I understand that you can if you get a WDWMagic pass, but will the custom title remain after the pass has expired? Just asking as WDW Monorail has one, yet is a Guest. :shrug:

The title remains even after the pass expires (unless Steve changes that :lookaroun ).
 

Register on WDWMAGIC. This sidebar will go away, and you'll see fewer ads.
