News from Disney Corporate HQ: execs were so pleasantly suprised w/the $ success of the B & the B 10th aniversary DVD sales - causing them to fast track the release of the two subsequent DVD's (Belle's X-mas/last week's).
This has resparked the pre-planning of a B & the B Fantasyland Dark ride-attraction (similar to the new Pooh ride).
Location considerations are the current character meet and greet area near the 20,000 leagues lagoon or where Belle currenlty does the storytime readings (grotto area on right side of Castle).

Isn't the area where Belle reads the story a very small area with a few benches? I think it would be a VERY tight fit for a dark ride. Although the idea sounds like a good one the locations seem more than a bit iffy to me. :)

"very early stages..." although this could get a green light once Philharmagic opens. Eisner has commented on many ocasions that he was unhappy w/the wasted space around the lagoon and there was speculation of a fullscale "Areil" attraction. That idea has been moved to Epcot's "seas" ride so hopefully he would fast track a Beast substitute.:sohappy:

i think that they should make an atlantis ride like 20000 leagues
but with all of the atlantis characters.
It seems like the perfect place to put it. And maybe they could have an underwater aquarium and gift shop at the end of the ride

Following the success of the DVD and the theatre shows - I agree that a B&B attraction would be great.
Plus its about time that something was done with that area.

The way MK is designed there are Locker rooms and other CM facilities that are located under and around the lagoon so them having something ungerground would not be possible. as well as there are other structual issues in that area.

The B & B attraction was being designed for Disneyland Paris back in 1992 , it's location within Fantasyland is the current Storybook Canal / Casey Jr Train attraction.A similar idea was built for The Little Mermaid Adventure ( like Peter Pan's Flight) but there is no budget for these attractions in DLParis or WDW with cuts going on this spring and summer.

They didn't fast track anything they had those on the books for release on the dates they were set for over a year. Disney has release dates for all the Disney DVD's for the next 5 to 7 years.

2 cents can't buy a DVD,

Incorrect NADisney, Beauty And The Beast at Disneyland Paris was to be located on the other side of Le Auberge De Cendrillon where there is currentyl a giant grassy hill area. The Beauty And The Beast ride was supposed to be an Animatronic show similar to The Tiki Room. - The WeirdOne :D

Tiki Room

Correct-the Tiki Room concept was to be a "Be our Guest" type show. You sit in a square room--brief appearance by Belle and Beast-then the other characters (including plates, silverware, etc) sing and move to the song(s). The move now is for a traditional Dark Ride which they believe patons will want to ride repeatedly.

Or a Finding Nemo ride...

Sorry, didn't mean to thread drift.

A Beauty and the Beast ride would be awesome...It's time that movie got some recognition via attraction in the parks. (look at how many awards it's won...it's a classic)

No, no, no...

ARIEL ride in the lagoon..(Where they have enough space to give TLM a proper ride)

FINDING NEMO in The Living Seas..(Where the theming is better)

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST animatronic show replace Playhouse disney at MGM (Since it is the ANIMATION COURTYARD)

PLAYHOUSE DISNEY go into the old ABC theatre (So it's in the 'Television' section of the park)

Not that Im the authority, but hey, I think that owuld make for a much better setting. And yes, I know that they already have a B&tB show at MGM, but I have plas for it, too. But hey,t his is the rumor page. No room for it here.

Any ride in the lagoon area would be great (let's stop wasting precious space!!!!), but I don't see it happening in the near future...too many other pressing issues and falling attendance.

I think it's vbeen made pretty clear over dozens of threads and posts that nothing is going to happen to the lagoon. There's no money, time and need to mess with it, not to mention the whole structural issue.
