As a loyal Disney fan, I try and catch all the animated movies at Theaters, and some of the non animated (if they look worth the money) I did see Treasure Planet and I have to admit it wasn't all that bad, but it can't be compared with The Lion King or Beauty and the Beast. In my opinion I thought that Lilo and Stitch was a better movie, with a bigger and more powerful message. Also, I really like Atlantis, even more than Treasure Planet. TP is nice to watch, but when you really look at the movie does it make any sense to be flying in space in a huge ship with sails. I mean what about the elements of space (HOW THE HECK CAN THEY BREATHE UP THERE!!) The effects are good in TP, and yes the movie probably diserves a ride (cause it would make a darn good one). At the end of the day Disney has ceased to make classics. But hey, not everyones perfect...lets hope the future holds great classics.:lookaroun

Hey, if you analize that much, how do you think gargoyles can talk to human beings, or fairies walk around humans, or kids fly to a far-off place, or wooden puppets talk? Breathing in space is probably the last thing on your mind in a universe where elephants fly!
And sure, you may say Beauty and the Beast is better than Treasure Planet, just like they're better than The Black Cauldron or The Rescuers. And you're right, Atlantis is not as terrible as one might consider at first, and it gets better every time I watch it (multiple views help character development and understanding). I just think people tend to brush off too quickly the new releases if they're not about cute animals, beautifull princesses or hilarious situations.

I totally I agree with you, thats why I really have a hard time with people who thought Atlantis was a complete failure, thats why I give every Disney animated movie a chance. And about the analyzing stuff, it was just weird to see them "breathing" in space, perhaps I was the only one who had that problem...but then again its Disney, home of imagination and fantasy. But anyway we've gotten a bit off topic.:hammer:

Well, here's the deal... I have four girls... and none of us were in the least bit interested in treasure planet. I forget who it was that said it was poorly marketed, but they were dead on. To me, the commercials looked like something a bit too old for my kids, and a bit boring for myself. I don't know. If you want an indication of my movie personality, my favorite movie is Mickey's Christmas Carol!! My kids are sick of it!!:D

and to get back to the subject, if we want to debate about which movies could be turned into rides, well, they all could . But which ones should? Guess it's not up to us. And I have to say, being a new member, and having been to Disney five times over the past eight years... I thought I knew a thing or two about Disney. You guys put me to shame!! :animwink:

Just to put my two disney dollars in...

... I think that Disney should have a ride / show / attraction for everyone of it's movie's - even if they don't make hundreds of millions at the box office.

Just because the movie wasn't brilliant, doesn't mean that a ride based on that movie will be crap. A treasure planet attraction has potential!!

Also a ride based on a movie will help a film out that is struggling. How many more kiddies will buy Treasure Planet on DVD / VHS if they visit WDW and enjoy the attraction? It wasn't that long ago that I was a kid myself, and I can remember really wanting certain movies at home after visiting WDW where as before I went there, I wasn't too bothered.

Trying to decide which "recent" Disney films deserve an attraction? Hmm....lets see...maybe the ONE nominated for best picture
