So... about France...

This might have been addressed awhile ago, though I'm not sure if it has been recently- will any of the dining options be leaving or will everything stay? Part of me is a little nervous that Disney will change something to "Gusteau's" to fit the Ratatouille theme (and I would be terribly upset if Les Halles left)

Up to now nothing dining will change. There was consideration to bring the restaurant from Paris with the ride but operationally it wouldn't work.

If the project has been given the green, how come no work or news has come out about it? I could see waiting to announce it at the right time, but wouldn't work be getting started so that it could open relatively close to the other projects?

It was only greenlit several months ago. Way back then, it wasn't going to begin work for a few years. Only recently was its timetable moved up when whatever was going in Ellen's got pushed back.

As far as announcement... we're on Disney time. Historically, they can take months to years to announce something, or, announce something too soon that it leaves people hanging (Pandora). Or, not announce it at all (StoryMaker).

So, do not take a lack of announcement as a sign that it's not happening.

DLP has Remy's ...the rat themed restaurant at the end of the movie...that you actually see from the ride....and it is very sweet but not a replacememnt for the real restaurant in the France Pavilion...and I agree, Les Halles was a nice addition that was really needed. It would be nice if the entire pavilion could remain untouched with the new ride queue and show building accessed from the space between France and Morrocco...that way it would feel very complete...a cartoon attraction for kids...a sort of window in for the young, and then a real view of France from IDF...

Thats what I figured they would do, just build a new facade on that side of the pavilion.

Not everyone has the price of a car to go to Disney World. I don't like teasing people who still love it and are passionate about it but who don't have the money/means to go all the time like some of you do. Not everyone has the connections you have, not everyone has the money you have, not everyone has the means that you have. I mean... I freaking have JT ignored and I still have to defend that point.

The green light comes well before the design work is complete. There are no blueprints to use to actually start construction.

In a nutshell, someone says "we want to build this"

Someone else says "that's good but change that."

The first person does this then comes back.

The second person says "how about changing that"

And so on. And so on. Until eventually the second person says "if you can build that, for x amount, then we'll do it. Now go and do some real designs"

I follow. I suppose I thought a project given the green light meant it was beyond those stages.

I understand and would normally agree. No one's really ganging up on him but he brings it on himself. He's clearly never been to WDW and sidesteps it at every turn. He then goes on to talk about a lot of stuff he knows nothing about. I find it amusing most of the time, he's harmless and doing nothing wrong, many have him blocked. I don't. But he brings it on himself.

Yes I have been to WDW. Over a hundred times.
You should pay better attention.
