Port Parking

Since I'll be on the other side of I-4 in a month it looks like I can now drive to my vacations! How much is parking at the port? And are the cheap off-site lots really as bad as some of you have made them out to be (I mean I've used off site parking at Newark Intl. Airport and can't really complain for the price)?

Here are the rates onsite:
Whether you park in one of our terminal lots or parking garages, the rate* for the following cruises are: 3-day, $60; 4-day, $75; 5-day, $90, and 7-day, $120 for vehicles up to 20 feet in length. For vehicles longer than 20 feet, the rates are $104, $130, $156 and $208 respectively.
There are definitely mixed reviews offsite. I'd spend some time on Trip Advisor and decide if it's worth it. :)

Plenty of people have acceptable or better experiences parking offsite. It was a nightmare for us, one we won't be willing to risk again. You should try both and see which you prefer. Don't just take other people's word. We've done both. We know what we will do in the future. :)

Ps. I've done offsite parking at both Houston airports, New Orleans, and Atlanta. Those experiences were all fine. If the offsite parking for the cruise had been even half as easy/enjoyable for us we'd be changed to cruise parking offsite for good. Unfortunately, it wasn't. :(

Those are flat fees or daily?

I would advise against off site, yes PC official parking is expensive but...

Seen lots of queues for shuttles on disembarkation.
Heard many tales of off site shuttles prioritizing Carnival dream.
DCL port parking is connected to terminal and also is exclusive to DCL.
Shuttles are not exclusive and do drop to other ships.
People I met on ship on two cruises said lots of delays and waiting around.
Cars not parked in safe area more like a marina open area.

After Disneyfalcon showed me the flat rates, using DCL is a no brainer for me...now I'm just debating switching the cruise since I don't have to worry about flying anymore and for the same price for airfare (both of us of course) I can park 4 times over on a 7-nighter (if I wanted to be extreme and live on the Fantasy for a month, but that'd be one heck of a bill)...

I used the off-site parking for the first time on our April cruise. I talked about it in my trip report (link below, "A Fantasy (Cruise) Come True"). Our experience was not a "nightmare", as Sweetpee's was. But it was definitely not the ultra-convenient experience that the DCL lot is. There was a little delay to be driven to the port (not more than 15 minutes), and there was a long delay to be driven back to the lot after disembarkation, which was frustrating. But overall, I think I would probably do it again for the money saved. For our 7-night cruise, the rate was $4.99/day, and I think there were taxes added, but I can't remember. So waiting 45 minutes to save $80 seemed like a fair trade to me.

I can definitely understand why not everyone would feel that way, but I didn't think it was so bad.

The long delay after disembarkation is something I hear again and again and in the hot sun in a queue is it really worth saving those bucks?

I was on a Back to Back in August and on both embarkations was speaking to people as I do and I heard lots and lots of complaints saying Carnival Dream was prioritized and they were annoyed at people on the internet saying off site was convenient. Now at that time Dream did change dock from right hand side of the DCL dock to the left hand side, not sure if that was an issue, shouldn't be? But that's the only thing I saw.

And do you want to know something, on my back to back Port Canaveral didn't charge me for one week, so I was even cheaper, tried to explain to them but they had few staff and just wanted me out.
