We are scheduled to arrive 4/28 (can't wait) and are reserved at AS Movies but I am thinking of changing to POR, as we have never stayed there before. What building would I request to be close to bus stop, pool and food court?

For PORS building 14 and 15 in the Alligator Bayou section are the best. Both are right next to the food court and main bus stop and it is a very short walk to the main pool. For the mansions building 85 and 90 will be your best bet.

I think Alligator Bayou any building 14-18 you'd be very pleasantly surprised.. I love building 18 because it's not the first one right next to the food court, but is quite close, has an awesome view no matter where you are in it, the pool is right behind it and the south depot bus stop is a 2 minute walk.. I've never stayed at any of the value resorts but we always stay at POR and LOVE it.. feels like home for us, I think you'd be very pleased!

Stay at FQ waaaay smaller and it has one pool and one bus stop. Ive stayed at both POR an FQ and the FQ is the best moderate resort by far...you could stay in any building at the FQ and it would be close to anything..

Good luck getting the bldg 14 or 15... I think that's just what it will be--luck.

In December, we were going to be out in the boonies... bldg 30-something, I think. I asked if we could get something closer. We ended up in bldg 27 (as i recall), and it was not bad at all. At POR, things are spread out. So, there's going to be some distance unless you get in one of the really close buildings, BUT 27 worked out well because it was right on the "river" (our room was on the other side--not waterview--but the view wasn't the point). Anyway, it was a vast improvement from bldg 17 the previous year.
I think I have posted this before, but... 17 and 27 don't look SO far apart on the map, and I wasn't all that thrilled with 27 at first, but the walk to it seemed half as long as to 17. I'm not sure if it was because you could walk "out in the open" by the water (vs. through a virtual forest to get to 17), or if it was really that much closer. Anyway, I'm trying to say those other building may be CLOSEST, but there are several other buildings that are not bad...

While 14 and 15 are indeed closest to the main building, 14 is (for that very reason) a bit noisy, and 15 gets noise from Bonnet Creek Parkway. 18 is not as close, but is much quieter. So if low noise is important to you, I'd choose 18. And as has been posted, 27 is a bit farther, but not so bad, and has a superior atmosphere, being right on the river.

Whatever you choose, be sure to get a note put on your reservation by calling central reservations as early as possible.

Have a magical trip!

We absolutly love POFQ,it's small and quiet, the grounds are beautiful and wonderfully kept.We have stayed there the past 3 years and are booked for 2 more weeks this year at the end of August. We always request building 4,it's very close to the bus stop. It's also close to the pool and food court. The resort is great for the price and worth bumping up.I'm sure you'll have a great time no matter which you choose.

Can you switch resorts so close to your trip? We arrive on 4/26. We wanted CS but could not get in so are staying at POR. We always stay at POP so the change would be nice but I would love to get into CS instead.

Ok I just switched to POR and I am so excited, can't wait to take the boat to DTD and walk the grounds it looks so beautiful. I requested Magnolia Bend or Oak Manor, ground floor hope that was the correct thing to do.
Thanks for the input.

I believe Oak Manor is the building we always request, with ground floor. We have never NOT gotten this when we request it. We all have knee problems, so high floors and far away buildings are not good for us. You certainly made the coorect request. Best of luck getting it, they are always ver accomidating.

POFQ is the best of the moderates IMO. We get down there on the 28th as well and can't wait.

Congrats on getting the resort you wanted.

Did you book through an agent? We were told we could not make changes after our 45 day mark or there was a fee. Also, are you going on the buy 4 get 3 free? That is how we are traveling. I wondered if there were not rooms available at CS for this offer.

Hey Karatemum, Depending on the change, there might be through Disney. If you booked through an agent, they may have additional fees for changes that are part of thier policy and have nothing to do with Disney. Each agency has it's own rules for that sort of thing. Kingdom Konsultants does not have any change fees within the agency itself and fees, if any, are according to the rules of the destination itself. Belle

We were in building 16, Alligator Bayou. It was a "waterview" room, so walking out, you faced the pool. Wonderful ambiance, not too far from the main building or the bus stop . . . .

Ahhhh, bliss. No complaints.:)

No we were not charged a fee to change, maybe as we were in a value resort and upgraded to moderate. I do have to say when I called back to change the CM put me on wait while he checked with the resort to see if they would "open" that up? We booked through the WD travel I think it is. Yes we are on the buy 4 get 3 free. I requested to be in Oak Manor or Magnolia Terrace so hopefully we'll get close to everything. Don't care if we are close to the big pool as our son is 16 . Boo hoo can remember bringing him with his older brother when the oldest was 6 and he was 2. This will be our 10 or 11 th trip, next time it will be just my hubby and I after this one leaves for Michigan State next year. Only 10 more days and counting.
