I am staying at POR for the first time from 2/26/05 to 2/27/05 and was wondering if anyone had any pics of info on this resort. I am also going by myself for the first time any help here would be helpful too.

We stayed there in December, and loved it. Its beautifully landscaped, the food court was excellent, as well as the restaurant. The food court was so much more than burgers and fries.... there truly was something for everyone.

There are 2 sections, Alligator Bayou and Magnolia Bend. If you need the trundle bed, you must stay in Alligator Bayou which is where we stayed. If you will be staying in this section and wish to be closest to the food court, lobby, and bus depot you should call about a week before your arrival and request Building 14. Call the resort directly and not the CRO.

Have a wonderfull vacation. I'm jealous.....

Candis, Allow me to compliment you on one of the loveliest set of pictures of Riverside I have seen to date!!!! I have a few websites that can do justice to the Coronado, But I havent ever seen pictures like this for Riverside!!! Great job on one of my favorite resorts!!! I have stayed there three times in 2004 alone, so I guess I must like it a bit huh?? Great job again!!!! I hope you dont mind if I direst people to your site when they ask about this resort??
NemoBruce, Make sure to make it a point to get over to Boatwright's on your first morning there for breakfast. You may not want to go anywhere else after that!!!! It is a great resort and I think you are going to have a marvelous time!!!! Belle

Thanks for you compliments :)

We have stayed at all three moderates and love this one the most by far. It has such a peaceful atmosphere that is so great to return to after a long day in the parks. Feel free to direct anyone to the site...

Hi.. I stayed at Riverside a few weeks ago for the first time. I've now stayed at all of the moderates and to be honest I'd been putting this one off (something about Plantation homes and slavery...you know...). Anyhow, I'm glad I've stayed there because this is the most beautiful moderate resort in Walt Disney World.

I stayed in Alligator Bayou (again...couldn't do those plantation homes) and loved the lush landscaping there, the wandering sidewalks, and rustic lodge buildings.

I very much enjoyed the tranquility of the resort and enjoyed wandering the grounds (yes, including the plantation homes section) and was impressed at how meticulously the grounds appeared to be taken care of.

The food court has food that is quite uninspiring and bland and I agree with the poster who says that you should go for Boatwrights for breakfast. I'm a transplanted Ozarks guy in New York City. Do you have any idea how hard it is to find biscuits and gravy in this city? Can you guess what I had for breakfast every day?

Anyhow, Riverside has proved to be high on my list of resorts at WDW. Enjoy!

I'd be glad to e-mail you some pics I took at the resort if you'd like, but the links above are really good.

I have stayed at Dixie Landings...oops POR 4 times. In fact I just got back today. The first three times were in a plantation building and I loved it. This time was Alligator Bayou (by request), and I really loved it. Obviously recently refurbished, all kinds of goodies (like a fridge) without asking, and all at an AP rate of $79 a night! Try to get in buildings 14 0r 15. I was in 16, which is just a bit further, but the room was fantastic. I love this place!

We are staying at POR from Feb 11-20. I really don't care if we stay in the Mansions or Bayou, the are both gorgeous. We stayed there (Dixie Landings at the time) on our first trip ('95 I believe) but I was 4 or 5 at the time so I don't remember a thing about it! We had eated at Wilderness Lodge one night on that trip and we all remembered more about it than we did Dixie Landings/POR!. My digital camera will currently hold 491 pix and I have a laptop that I'm taking, to upload pix onto mainly. So I can take 491 in one day! lol. I LOVE Photography! I plan to photograph everything that looks inspiring or neat to me...so pretty well everything lol. I will come home with atleast 50 pics of the resort too probably!
