Does anyone know if the foodcourts at the Port Orleans Resorts are comperable to the food courts at All-Star Resorts? Can someone please describe the atmosphere and food offered at each of the Port Orleans resorts? Plus, which one is better? I have never seen them and am clueless, but a food court is a necessity for me. I am booking reservations tonight, and I am caught between the All-Star resorts and the Port Orleans Resorts. Plus, where exactly are the Port Orleans Resorts located, I am totally drawing a blank. Please, someone help!!!

The PO resorts are "moderates" while the All-Stars are "value"...

If you can afford it, I'd go with PO...

I stayed at POR, Port Orleans Riverside, back when it was Dixie Landings (same thing, just changed the name)... I think many people like POR over POFQ, Port Orleans French Quarter... But I can't speak for everyody, since everybody is entitled to their opinions. I am biased for POR, and having been in both POR and the POFQ foodcourts, like POR... The theme is a cotton mill - very quaint, very "bayou"-like... Very relaxing and heavily themed... Food is like a normal foodcourt, at stations, comparably good quality for the price considereing you are at WDW...
POFQ foodcourt is themed as a Mardi Gras Parade warehouse, and big huge masks and floats and stuff like that are hung up on the walls... sorta like the Rio in Las Vegas...
Anymore information why not check out the resort pages on www.disneyworld.com or on a bunch of other resources... do a search on yahoo, or more people will respond to this thread...

The food courts at the Port Orleans resorts are very nice. A lot of choices...they are one of if not the best food courts on property (especially Riverside).

We've stayed at AS Sports and POR. Hands down, no contest, POR's food court is better. More variety, better themeing than AS. Very affordable if you decide to split a b-fast platter too like we were able to do. You'll love it--go with POR.

Hey there Crazy, Not to get into t thread drift, but if you do decide to stay at the PO Riverside you MUST try Boatwright's for breakfast. That is probably my favorite restaurant on property for breakfast. When I say on property I mean theme parks and resorts all included. That place is just awesome. Give it a shot I guarantee you that you will spend about the same as in the food court, but will be MUCH more satisfied with the food quality, service and overall atmosphere!! When I went in December we actually rented a car and drove to POR for most of our breakfasts!!! Belle

Have stayed at both Port Orleans (Riverside was Dixie Landings then) and enjoyed both. The food court is bigger at Riverside but I prefer French Quarter because of the intimacy of the resort. After walking all over the parks, it's nice not to have a long walk back to your room at the end of the day. Also, there are 4 bus stops at Riverside and one of the (sorry can't remember if it was the North, West or East) has a dark path through trees. At night, this was a little creepy.
