Port arrival and boarding time changes

Yay! An update!

So the new opening time of 11 is holding so far! Some people were able to sign up for 10:30 arrival times so let us know if anyone gets to go in!

A few questions if you have time time:

What time did the first guests go in?
Did they let you park or be dropped off before 11?
Did it appear that guests on DCL transfers got in early? They go through a different entrance so you may not se them.

Tammy, I just saw on another board where a guest arrived at 10:10 and were told the port didn't open until 11. They are currently sitting at a gas station nearby having mimosas in the car. :lol: Sounds to me like they aren't letting anyone in to drop off or anything until the 11 time.

Well we had to park nearby so they're not letting anyone park yet. We'll be heading over in a few minutes to see if they'll let us in since we're set for 11-11:30. As far as the other questions I'm not sure.

I have my grocery list right here along with like 5 loads of laundry to catch up. Aaaaaand I sit fixated between windows anxious for reports from the port.... We're a pathetic lot, aren't we??? :hammer: :lol:

I just called the Raddisson. They are not starting their shuttles until 11 now. They used to be able to get you there around 10 or earlier.

Yes and no. The DCL transfers from the resorts tend to be between 11:30 and 12:30. You don't get to pick, they just give you the time to meet the bus.

Now the transfers from the airport are different. If you fly in the day of, you go to the check in and catch the next DCL bus you can get on.

If you fly in the day before (and say, stay at the Hyatt MCO) or early in the morning, you can decide when to go to the check in desk. If you want to sleep in, you can sleep in and go down late.

In the past, you can also get up early and they start checking people in about 8-8:30 am with the first transfers leaving around 9-9:30.

So I wonder what time the busses left there this morning!

For anyone wondering why everyone doesn't just go late, here's why.

First - some people :lookaroun, are just obssessive compulsive about being among the first to board. They :lookaroun don't want to miss a second of Disney Magic.

Second - if you couldn't get a reservation at Palo, Remy or an excursion you wanted was full, being among the first to board gives you a good shot at this.

Third - Stateroom upgrades! If the ship isn't full, they offer upgrades at a fraction of the price you would have paid when you booked the room. People love these upgrades and they go quick! If you are not among the first to get there, you pretty much have no shot.
