Pop Century Room Rehab

Does anyone know for sure if the extra bed is a twin or full??

It's definitely at least a full. There are some people claiming they've been told it is also a queen, but I haven't seen any confirmation of that with measurements. I've seen the pictures of the bed open and it is most definitely *not* a twin.

I'm very happy to hear that the rooms will now have a coffee maker. We would actually ship a cheap one from amazon to the resort because I find it difficult to get moving in the morning without coffee. There was also no way I could drink that nescafe garbage they had at the food court. :hungover:

They haven't had Nescafe in the food courts/CS restaurants for at least 4 years now. They switched to Joffrey's. I'm pretty sure it has been Joffrey's since our trip in 2013. That being said, I don't drink coffee so I have no idea if that's a big improvement, but my husband likes the Joffrey's much better than Nescafe.

Someone posted a video of one of the refurbished room as POP earlier today on one of the Facebook groups "I'm so Disney"... Not sure how to link it in here as that is a closed group.

Unfortunately you have to be a member of that page to be able to see any posts. People tried to link to it on other boards and if you're not a member, it just takes you to the page to join the group. :( Hopefully some videos will start to show up on You Tube soon.

I have asked them for permission to upload here or for them to join and upload themselves

The old Pop Century rooms were certainly dated in their decor, even for the theme they represent, but they felt happy and cheerful. I hope once the remaining decor elements are in place that it will still have that vibe. In addition to the rumored coffee maker, I am thrilled to find that there will be an actual queen bed. My husband and I would really get into the retro theme by sleeping in separate beds like an old sitcom when we stayed there. Those beds were not super comfortable for two adults, especially if you like to stretch out. We haven't stayed at POP in a while and I'm interested to see reviews in the future from people who get to test the final product.

Yikes, they look like dorm rooms. Can we bring our own posters to liven the place up?
One of my favorite features of the Pop rooms were the posters that had all the disney memorabilia from whatever decade building you were in. My husband never believed me when I talked about Wuzzles and I was able to prove to him they were real when we stayed in an 80's room. It was a fun touch. Hopefully when it's all done there is something that has that whimsical nostalgia factor.

Reports and pictures from people who have stayed in the rooms the last few nights show that there is definitely a coffee maker! :) They've also said that the beds are very comfortable. Pictures taken before the rooms were put in inventory show that both beds have thick, pillow top mattresses.

They look so sterile but maybe they'll be better in person. Can the murphy bed hold an adult?

The Inovabed is a queen-size bed (according to reports from people who have stayed in the room...though they didn't actually measure it so it *could* be a full-size) so *two* adults will fit. It's not a Murphy bed like the moderate resorts have. It's a standard bed that happens to fold up against the wall.

Thank you I am staying here in September with my parents and I do not want a twin!

I am super pleased that there are two bedside tables with what appears to be plugs installed at each one so we can now plug the phones up by the beds and charge them there. Maybe the plugs will have USB sockets there as well?
