 I have searched this but havn't found anything. Does anyone know what the buildings are across the water from Pop Century Resort?

They are probably the other section of POP that never got completed. There are some rmors going around that they may turn that section into family suites, but nothing has been confirmed so still rumors at this point

They are in fact the uncompleted Legendary years section of POP century. Construction on the was stopped shortly after the tourism slump triggered by 9/11. As mentioned before it is rumored that when completed they will be value suites much like the ones at All Star Music but no firm dates have ever surfaced as to when or if this will happen.

They are the legendary years, they were never finished after Sept. 11, they are rumored and hopefully will be family suites in the near future!

WOW, I think I see this question asked every week!

I think the reason that this question comes up a lot is that people don't expect anything at WDW to be left in the state that those buildings are. They can't figure out what those are- it doesn't click that they are part of Pop Century.

You would think that Disney would have planted some large plants or put up a nice screen to hide the brown unfinished bldgs. from view.

That's the first thing I though when I checked in last year. I was like is this what I have to look forward to! Not really the first impression Disney wants to have!

We got upgraded to one of these suites last time we stayed at all star music and it was very nice surprise. It had 3 pull out bed (from the furniture! even the foot rest folded out!) plus the queen bed in the bedroom. We were very happy :sohappy:

I believe it was supposed to be called "The Legendary Years" (1920's - 1940's).
I also believe they were going to be suites.
But, they were never completed. :(

Why hasnt Disney resumed Construction?
No need. Not enough demand. You could say the same why the CBRs 7th Village was never built. The option is there, abut as posted above resumtion is work is rumoured to involve suites, not rooms.

DVC and partnership leases are the cats meow today (to quote a phrase) at WDW. Look at the Eagle Pines area and proposals for Western Way. It may quite a while before the company builds a normal hotel on property again.

Glad to hear it. Since Disney finally put an AP rate on these we will be trying the suites out on labor day weekend.
