I'm going to be staying at Pop Century (First Disney Resort for me) And what I wanted to find out is...How good is the resort? Also I noticed on the maps that it's close to Epcot..Can you see I:ROE from the hotel?

We have stayed there twice and have to say it really wonderful. Great themeing, great layout, beautiful everything, and great food. The fireworks you see are Illuminations. It's impossible to see wishes from there though.

We've stayed there a couple of times & really like it much better than the other value resorts. Great food court, nice rooms and easy to get to from all the parks.

It's relatively new, which makes it especially nice (little wear to rooms, etc.). We stayed there shortly after it opened and loved it . . . but remember that it is a value-resort, so there are lots and lots of people there with you! I mention that because some people do not like the All Star and Pop resorts because of their size compared with POFQ for example. Nonetheless, we enjoyed it because of the fun atmosphere.

Be sure to try the Twinkie Tiramazu and Tye-dyed Peanut Butter fluff sandwich . . . fattening, but yummy! :slurp:

It is a great resort! I'm excited for you!

If you walk from the main building towards the 50's, and walk to the very top of first 50's building (on the left) and walk around the back, you will find a great view of Epcot and SE. At night, you can enjoy Wishes and IllumiNations from that very spot! Enjoy!

Try the nachos.

We just came back in July...

Hi, we just came back in July and we loved the PC. We have stayed at some of the All Stars before and liked them too, but we prefer PC. I don't think you can see Epcot from PC, but I still think you made a good choice. My daughter is 10, and she loved it. Have a great time...

Don't forget the tye-dyed cheesecake!

i agree! im staying there for christmas and new year and on my last trip to WDW in may 2005 i visited pop century to see what it was like and from what i saw its fab! i only went to the food court coz i didnt want to spoil my trip in december 2005 but i got a tye-died cheesecake coz i had seen pictures of it on the internet and it was fab i cant wait to get some more!
i also liked the atmosphere in the food court and the lay-out.
the bus stops where in a good view of the decades and everything was handy as in walking distance - the bus stops, the food court, the shop.

i am about to burst just thinking about it and im really excited.

i hope you have a great time and i hope you tell everyone when you come back how your time was there coz i would like to know.

i cant wait to buy a pop century mug/cup.:xmas:

Like crazygirly stated, PC is a wonderful resort and you can see IROE if you head to the 50's building with Tramp out front. Go around to the lake side of the building on the 3rd floor and you can see the fireworks and hear some of the music. When we stayed the week after Thanksgiving last year we would get back to our room just before most of the fireworks shows began and we would be "drawn out of our room" onto the balcony like most other guests to watch. WOW is all I can say. It was so cool seeing everyone standing around on the balconies watching with their kids. Have fun, wish I could be there too.

The only down side that I can think of for POP is the parking situation. They really wern't thinking when they designed the parking lots. If you are not driving this is not an issue but if you are, check out a map beforehand.'

PS. There is no assigned parking so even if the map shows a parking lot close to your building it may be filled with people from other buildings that found "your" lot more convenient.

Pop Century is a really nice value resort. The food court is good, the rooms nice, the decor neat to see.

I've stayed a few times and if you are in a room in the right location, you can have a view of the higher fireworks from RoE.

I was on the third floor and had a perfect view of SSE right out my hotel window. I couldn't hear any of the music and couldn't see any of the laser stuff or the lower fireworks, but the stuff that shoots up high is clearly visible.

The Pop Century is by far the best value. I am about to embark on my 4th stay there. By nature, if I had the money, I'd be a Deluxe kinda guy. I don't - so moderates and values are where I stay. POR I love, and that is where I stayed in Feb. Love that place! But the rates at Pop Century for September - Wow! I travel a lot. Believe me - A Disney Value is better than almost any German or Italian "4 star" by far!

Is it 5:00 yet?
I loved staying at PC..I have never stayed at another resort though...It's so much nicer than staying at the Super 8 on 192 and having the back of a grocery store right outside your door!!

Anyway, it is definitely worth staying there. We were in the 70's building. Next time I hope we get a different era...

Have fun!
