Pop Century or All Stars??

Hi Everyone we are going to WDW in Sept and we have stayed at Pop Century 3 times in the last 2 years. We were wondering if we should try a different value resort like one of the All Stars or stick with the pop. We really liked it but maybe we are missing out on something??

I've stayed at POP, ASMU, and ASMO. If you haven't stayed at the AS resorts try them. The theming is different, which makes it interesting to me. Also, like was previously said, I have had to share a bus once with the other AS resorts. It was one afternoon I left DHS early to go back to my room. This is the only time in my previous stays I have had this happen. If you go to the parks at opening or closing you should not have to worry about sharing a bus. I would say try something new, try one of the AS resorts this time.

I like to stay at different resorts when I have the option. I think it's fun to see the different Disney sites. And visiting a resort is very different than staying at a resort. I would stay at an AS resort just to take in more of what WDW has to offer.

We have stayed at Pop three times & All Star Movies once. We never would have stayed at Movies, except we booked three weeks out from the trip, which was right after New Year's & Pop was full. We definitely prefer Pop, the rooms are nicer. We also like the food court at Pop better; not only the food, but also the layout of it. We were kinda bummed to get to Movies & not be able to get some tye-dyed cheesecake.

I've stayed at all four value resorts over the years, and can safely say that All Star Music is the best of the lot. It IS the least-crowded of the values (all the Pop Warner ilk often end up at Sports), had the new rooms done first, had nightly pool entertainment last Summer, and often has its own buses whilst Sports and Movies share. Besides, the guitar-shaped pool is much better than the Fantasia shapeless lake, the Surfing shapeless lake and the small flower shaped pool (Hippy Dippy!) at Pop.

Besides, people overpraise Pop's exclusive bus. What use is a dedicated bus when it's often as crowded/more crowded than the All Stars (don't forget Pop takes much more people than a single AS resort), and is often at the longest walk from the park entrance.

Go for All Star Music. I can safely say you won't forget it. ;)

Aren't they basically the same?

On the contrary, there are quite sizable differences between each AS resort, and massive differences between the All-Stars and Pop Century. They range from "trivialities" like bus-sharing, numbers of rooms, and the layout of the food court, all the way to the type of clientèle that might frequent the resort. ;)

This is why I love Disney. So many resorts...some for every budget and some for every taste.

Although some disliked Pop and AS, I have had no problems at either. Busing was fairly quick at AS Sports and Pop. No complaints on either. At AS Sports we didn't like some of the guests(baseball teams from other countries being rowdy and rude), but other than that we loved the resort. They were both great, in my opinion.:)

For us, we try to stay somewhere different each time we go to have more experiences and to try new things. This is not to say we didn't enjoy our stays, we just like variety. Next trip we are on to POFQ.
