Pool Hopping

My husband and I are DVC members and will be staying at the GF villas. Can you pool hop to different resorts? I have read mixed things. We would like to use the water amenities at the Beach Club Resort.

If I'm not mistaken, the only places you cannot pool hop to are Beach / Yacht Club and Bay Lake Tower. I'm all for DVC members being able to pool hop, but I can understand why they would limit it at Stormalong Bay.

Do you happen to know why?
BCV because Stormalong Bay is awesome and strategically easy to get to if you're visiting Epcot or DHS. BLT isn't quite as awesome, but it's walking distance from MK and it's not very big so could easily be overrun if enough people just staying at BLT want to go. It would be an easy judgment call to be in Epcot and go "man it's hot, let's go jump in the Beach Club pool." Or to be in MK and think "ugh, the counter service places are so crowded, let's walk to the COntemporary, get lunch there and take a dip."

Oops, in my first reply, I forgot to include Art of Animation. This text comes direct from a pdf regarding DVC member perks:
When staying on your Membership at any Disney Vacation Club Resort at the Walt Disney World Resort or Disney’s Vero Beach Resort, you and any Guests staying with you are permitted to use most of the other Disney Vacation Club and Walt Disney World Resort hotel pools (in addition to the pool at the resort hotel at which you are staying) if they are not at capacity. If the pool you are visiting reaches capacity, you may be asked to leave in order to accommodate Guests of that resort hotel. Please check with a host or hostess at the front desk of the resort you wish to visit before you go to find out about pool-access availability. You must present your current Key to the World Card with your “DVC Member” designation on it to use the other resort hotel pools.

Pool hopping is not available at Bay Cove Pool at Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Uzima Pool and Samawati Springs Pool at Disney ’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, Stormalong Bay at Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts, the leisure pool at Disney’s Beach Club Villas, and the pools at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. There are no exceptions to this policy.
Resort hotel pools may become unavailable from time to time due to
capacity limitations. Due to the high occupancy that is expected, you and
any Guests staying with you may not pool hop during the dates listed on
the next page:

As a reminder, please be mindful of the limited number of pool chairs

I actually didn't know that, were I to go to a moderate or Value (except AoA), that I'd be allowed to go in their pools as well.

I believe the Beach Club pool is off limits to non Yacht/Beach Club guests. I know for a fact though that you can use Saratoga's.

Maybe if the OP titled it "DVC pool hopping" it would not have been so controversial. I know when I saw it I thought - touchy subject around here.

BTW If it is locked how are we able to respond?

I wasn't aware I posted something controversial. I thought I was asking a question many others have wondered? I apologize.

You didn't ask anything controversial. It would have been if you weren't asking in terms of dvc pool hopping. It's against the rules for other Disney guests but for dvc it's perfectly fine :)

All it does is allows you to follow the thread before it gets locked or deleted. You can just as easily hit the "follow this thread" button lol... same end result.
