I haven't been to Capitol Reef, but I went to Zion, Arches, and Lake Powell over the summer and I was blown away. I would have never given Utah a second thought before, but now I think it's the most phenomenal state in the country.

Yes, agreed. I never realized Utah had so much to offer.

Luke - great pictures - now you have to go back and see Bryce and Zion!!!! :sohappy::sohappy:

I would have loved to go to Zion, but it's so expensive! It's something like 30 dollars just to get in, then you have to pay a lot (as well as wait on a waiting list) to get backcountry permits, and it's also super crowded. Whereas Capitol Reef was free in every way. One day when I'm no longer a poor college student, I'll make it back there.

Bryce... we thought about going there, but turned it down because it's so small and there aren't really any long hikes available there. Again, I'll make it there one day.

Luke, it's GORGEOUS. What a great spring break.

It really was. On both accounts.

Astonishing.
I love the striated coloring in the rocks.
Makes them look fluid.

I know. They really are something to see.

Why is there always something wrong with your camera?

Stunning pictures, Luke. Wow. I don't think anyone can beat your spring break. I'm glad you got to spend it doing something you love.

I think it's officially donezo. It no longer works.

I'm buying you a nonbreakable camera. One that would survive anything and everything.

A good one to buy would be an Olympus Stylus Tough 8000. (I have one) It is drop/crush proof, freeze proof, and water proof. My kids dropped it at least 5X during our last Disney trip and it still works great.

Awesome pics, Luke. Glad you had a good trip!

I'd still break it.

So much more eventful than my SB.... Looks amazing, Luke!

My problem is sand. I always get sand in places where sand does not belong. Like in lenses.

And thanks!

It's like you're on top of the world!

Myself looking into the space below the arch:
