Polynesian Questions!

I am a regular visitor of WDW. I go 4 or 5 times a year, staying mostly at the Contemporary.

Today I decided to go Next Month :)

But the Contemporary was booked, so I booked at the Polynesian.

Of all the years going to Disney, Ive always said that this hotel to me looks a little too old, or boring. Dont get me wrong, I love all disney resorts, but when compared to other ones, nothing really stands out!

So if anyone has stayed at the Polynesian, please let me know what you think.
Perhaps some suggestions on what to do, or where to eat at the resort. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT RESTAURANTS OR ACTIVITIES GO ON AT THIS RESORT!

Anything would help!

PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK!!

THANKS,
NOEL ;)

its by far the best resort, and at ngiht when they have the torches lit, its unlike any other resort experience I ever had. I especially like the hawaiian music played throughout the resort. If they have fireworks at the magic kingdom, the poly has the soundtrack to it and there is a perfect view. Ohana has out of this world food.

Put it this way youd love it!!!!!!!!!!

You should also try making reservations for the Luau. Fantastic show, fantastic food (all you can eat) and you may be lucky enough to dance with a beautiful South Seas beauty (if they pick you of course). I've gotten lucky twice. :D

This is by far the best resort on the property. I have stayed there in '79, '83, '85, '87, '89, '91, '93 and '99 (between '85 and '93 each trip was 10 nights and still always enjoyed it).

I absolutely love the Polynesian. It's like getting the best of 2 worlds: a Hawaiian vacation and a Disney vacation! The rooms are beautiful and esp worth it if you have a lagoon view. They have all of these secluded paths that you can go on romantic walks on....wow, don't get me started! LOL

What I really like about it is the fact that it's separated. Although the hotel may be at full capacity, it never seems like it cause there are so many seperate buildings. The TTC or the Monorail at the Great House is only a couple steps away depending on what side of the complex you're on. It's also very safe. I'm 21 and I've been staying there since I was 12. Mom never felt nervous to send me off to go do something as CM's are everywhere.

The Tonga Toast is a must have for breakfeast at Kona Cafe is a must have. I also really liked the Roasted Chicken here. The seafood apps were pretty good, but I'm from the NorthEast, so I'm really picky about seafood anyways.

One more thing...when you're in the Magic Kingdom, right by the Monorail entries you'll see a boat dock for just the Grand Floridian and the Polynesian. This does NOT go back to the TTC, but this boat docks right at the hotels. This had to be the best find of my last trip. The boats only hold 20 people tops and at the end of the night it's so nice to putter across the Seven Seas Lagoon vs hanging out on the Monorail!

Email me for more details!

Kristin, When was your last trip? Someone had posted that the launches were no longer running. Are they back in service again? Like you, I always thought that was one of the nicest perks associated with staying at the Poly!

That's right marcia, I remember hearing that as well. I believe Disney was trying to cut costs. That was a great perk. I remember going to the docks after MK would close and the heard of people would head toward the monorail while a handful of us would just quietly get on the boat to GF and Poly. Very relaxing after a long day at the park.

Good morning PrincessK. :) Oh no I hope Jay's not around, he'll think I'm flirting again. ;)

Fighting for the hand of the Princess are you? LOL

Morning to you too!

See, what I don't understand is that Disney, which makes who knows how much money, wants to cut down on costs to save money? *Sigh* But I guess that's a discussion for a whole other forum.

Question: How do I add a pretty picture under my name like you all have? Is it an option when I get more posts?

I'm a lover not a fighter so JR's not even a factor. I just need to turn on the charm to woo the princess's hand. ;)

Click on "User CP" and then click on "Edit Options". Go to the bottom of the screen where it says "Avitar". Now you have to have one of your own (any jpg or gif file) because this site does not have any. If you don't have one of your own you can go to http://www.disneyclipart.com and download one.

Hope that helps. :)
