I don't mind that these places serve drinks and I am one who does partake. It is the way some people act after they have had a few. I was waiting in line to buy something at Epcot, when two men with beers and strollers said loudly, "I'd like to tap that." Then one of the idiots "taps" the backs of my legs with the stroller. I didn't respond, so he did it again. I turned to give him a nasty look and they giggled at me. I was alone and I did nothing to provoke them. I think Epcot is too expensive to feel like I am at a frat party.

That didn't have anything to do with drinking necessarily they were just . Trust me my husband could have 12 beers and yes he would be plastered and barley able to walk but he would never treat you like that.

Why stop there? It would make an AMAZING themed restaurant as well... Set up the fake elevators like they used to use at Living Seas and take everyone back up to the Tip Top Club for an amazingly themed 1939 nightclub style restaurant. Set the evening everything went wrong...Occasional lightning flashing in the windows and the rumble of thunder over the bIg Band background music. It would also make an amazing After Hours venue for corporate rentalls and private parties...They have Prime Time and Sci Fi Drive In Restaurants... Why not another beautifully themed dining experience... and a craft cocktail bar as well. I would GLADLY pay to eat and drink in a place like that...

It's in the exit of the attraction that is already pretty tight. People won't be w-ending a lot of time here like they do at say, trader Sams, or any other bar on property. It's going to be very much grab a drink and get out. There's not going to miraculously be tables and bar stools for people to lounge around and get plastered.

ohmygosh those poor boys. Good luck with them going forward, that must have really scarred them...

I was more concerned for the poor girl who had to deal with the two drunks - and given the condition and attitude they were in - their behavior wasn't limited to her.
As for my kids (while I accept your sarcasm here) of course they're not scarred - but it was a trashy thing to see in a gift shop.

No, I know. I don't have a problem with alcohol being served at Epcot. I just wish there was a mechanism to prevent people from acting like donkeys. I think the fact they had been drinking might have lowered their inhibitions. I honestly wasn't expecting that type of behavior at WDW. I know most people don't bother others after a few, but I could have done without that experience.

The "drunks" don't bother me nearly as much as the obese (on a scooter cause they're to fat & lazy to walk) running over you for the next fast food fix.
Thanks soooooo much for the grammar correction! Because of that mistake I had too git a drinkkk or three to kope.......ohhh da horror....zzzzzzzz
Much like the horror of the obese traversing the parks. Counseling could help. As can booze....

There's a bar in every hotel .;). I think it' s not gonna be a big deal, if dad or mom wants a "mildly " tainted alcoholic beverage after that ride so be it . The drinks arent that strong , and only seen 1group of drunkin d-bags . Belive it or not Disney delta Security Forces came in and told them to chill or be thrown out .

I have seen a lot of people at Walt Disney World that where not drinking that also acted like donkeys.

I honestly don't mind the presence of alcohol in the parks. I do like that MK does not have it though. In reality the amount of alcohol the average guest would consume in a day in the parks is probably fairly low. Price points alone would most likely keep majority of guests from drinking to much.

For me, the opportunity for a guest experience in a Hollywood themed bar like this is to great. I personally don't ride TOT when we go. I'm not a fan of free falls. But now when my party rides, you can definitely find me hanging out in the bar. Way better than sitting outside in the heat.

Walt didn't approve of a lot of things, which is why Tommy Kirk got fired.

Tommy Kirk was in his 20's when Walt fired him for having relations with a 15-year-old boy after the boy's mother complained.

Tommy was also a drug addict, and was once so addled by drugs he fainted while filming a scene.

Nonetheless, Walt did hire him back for the final Merlin Jones movie.

Happily, Tommy pulled his life back together and today he's doing very well. He once said: "I have no animosity towards anybody because the truth is, I wrecked my own career (because of drugs)."

And in related facts, Walt once refused to fire an animator who was arrested for what was then referred to as sodomy. (I apologize if that word upsets people. I hate it myself, but that was the term back then).

Now, then, back to the Tower of Terror bar. I can understand people's concern here regarding drunkenness. Perhaps the solution is to have a 2-drink limit. Personally, I'm kinda happy about this bar, because for some reason I'm hoping it will help the Tower survive. I mean, I don't think a GOTG ride would get a bar, would it? That's a tad too mature. The Tower is a ride for grown-ups, and it's based on the idea of a snazzy Old Hollywood hotel, which is a grown-up concept. So I'm happy about the bar. In fact, if it gets built, I'll patronize it, because doing so might contribute to the Tower's continued existence. I'll drink to that!
