Hey everyone! My husband and I leave in a few days for WDW. It'll be our first time staying at POFQ and I'd really love to catch the Welcome Show before MK opens for the day. The day we are there, it says the show will take place at 8:45 am with park opening at 9:00 am. I've never caught the show and I'd love to see it this time! How long will it take to get from POFQ to MK and what time would you suggest we get to the bus stop? I don't know what to expect in terms of crowd level trying to get there before park opening.

Yeah the thing to consider, if you're getting up early for the pre-show, is it might be good to get there as early as possible so you can beat the crowds for the rope drop.

We stayed at POFQ a couple weeks ago and were at the bus stop by 8 am both of our MK mornings. We arrived in time to watch the welcome show both days.

To me, arriving for the morning show can be tricky. I've had times where I'm at the bus stop at 8 and make it with 10 minutes to spare and other times miss it all together because a bus was full or had to load scooters(nothing against them).
I would plan to leave at 7:45 to allow for all obstacles.
It is a great show!!

With two adults, this is what I do.

I take a cab from my hotel to the Contemporary. I get into the cab around 8:20.

I tell the cab driver that I intend to walk to the MK. They drop me off in the Contemporary parking lot right next to the walkway.

I walk to the MK (3-5 minutes).

I never miss the Welcome show. :)

That's a good idea, didn't think about that. How much is a cab from the resort to the Contemporary? Also, why not directly to MK?

The cab would have to drop you at the Ticket and Transportation center. Then you would have to take the Ferry across. That time of the morning I would just hit the bus stop about 7:45 and you will be fine. But keep the cab idea in mind and use them at night to get around for dinner.. (that is what we do)

I stay at the Beach Club and it is usually $15 dollars.

You cannot take cabs directly to the MK, only Disney buses are allowed to go there. The Contemporary is much closer than the TTC, so I always do this.

I like to be at MK no later than 8:15 for a 9:00AM opening so I'm at the bus stop around 7:40AM. Never had a problem with the bus from POFQ to MK, only a minor problem when going to AK.

If you want to leave extra early, you could get a bus around 6:30-7:00 a.m. (I had an ADR at Kona Cafe first). Since I was the only one on the bus, the driver called dispatch and took me straight to the Poly. I still had time to kill so boarded the resort monorail. Your bus would take you direct to MK. You could also kill time by riding the monorail as well and still be right there for MK park opening.
