Pocahontas Show Closing

IMHO it is not a big loss. It was a cute show that I took in a couple of times either before or after FOTLK. The little ones liked the animals and the message of conservation message was good but ultimately the show could best be described a forgettable.

I think that sums it up completely for me. I saw it two times a while ago and while tomorrow is my last day at WDW, I doubt I'll go over to the AK and catch it :)

This was not a bad show by any stretch, but it was forgettable for adults. Personally I haven't been in Camp Minnie-Mickey in a few years (FOTLK isn't the best thing in the world to me), but hopefully something will happen soon in that area to get me interested.

Here's what camp Minnie Mickey needs:

More themeing, give it more of a camp ground feel. Then maybe add a resteraunt and shop or two.

Then add some animal exhibits themed to north american animals.

Two rides added: The first being a flume ride with the story that you are canoeing on a river, but accidentally end up on a log flume which ends in a big drop.

The other ride could be a darkride. Maybe it could be themed to the Ranger Woodlore and Humprey the Bear cartoons.

Or just tear it all out and start from scratch. :lookaroun

You do have to wonder though, if they are closing this and not really announcing a replacement what it means for the future of CMM.

North American animals? Sorry, I can see those in my backyard. Or a petting zoo. Give me Australia! Though I seem to remember someone pointing out that marsupials are nocturnal or something....hey, another reason to keep the park open later!

Also, the flume ride you describe is basically Splash Mountain...sort of. And those cartoons? I have not a clue what you're talking about, sorry.

Bummer, I'm sorry to see the Pocahontas show close. It was a cute way for the little ones to take a rest for a bit and enjoy the animals. They like Pocahantas and there's nothing else besides this.

I'm glad I got to see it once so I can say I did it, but it was a forgettable show and will not be missed by most people. This is a cost saving move by Disney and nothing else. There will not be a replacement, probably for years.

I agree that CMM is a pathetic part of AK. FOTLK is a good show, but really should be part of Africa. They should move the show, move the character meet and greets to different parts of the park and close this pathetic "land." They could have done so much better when they came up with CMM. It should have been themed as a campground and had some North American animals like moose, bears, deer, elk, birds, etc. Instead of the nice restrooms have outhouses. :)
