Sosa Cigars has opened an upscale cigar bar in Downtown Disney's Pleasure Island area, providing a lounge for wine, beer, cocktails, specialty coffees, other beverages -- and tobacco products that are banned in other Downtown Disney establishments.

The new lounge, called Fuego by Sosa Cigars, will be open 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.

It is Sosa's second location in Downtown Disney, to go along with Sosa Family Cigars, a tobacco-products retail store in the entertainment district's West Side area.

The new lounge pays tribute to four generations of the Sosa family who have been involved in the cigar business.

Fuego by Sosa Cigars "will allow guests to indulge in life's simple pleasures," said Alex Sosa, director of operations.

I, for one, am prepared to savor the irony, as cigarette smokers who'd have no qualms smoking around you or your children or THEIR children, without the courtesy of asking, zero respect or consideratiin for other people, start bellyaching that the only place they an drink and smoke at the same time at a cigar bar.

Because, YOU KNOW, cigar moke is *gross*.

Mmmmmm, I love the smell of irony in the morning.

Cigar smoke is not gross.
Cheap cigar smoke is gross.
Can't wait to light up a Padron and have a drink.
The cigar bar I go to here does not allow cigarette smoking because it stinks.

Given the cigar industry's base in Tampa and Miami, its nice to see Sosa settling into DTD and Orlando. Its part of Florida/Cuban identity and they have all of the rare Fuentes as well. You can buy fresh rolls off of the torcedor in the store as you watch in amazement.

Finally!

I've been waiting for this one for a long time, as it's long overdue and the refurb of PI's Sosa's took longer than expected... Sosa's is always on the "to do" list on every WDW trip, and Enrique and the guys always make you feel welcome. As to the "gross" comment....DFTT. :ROFLOL:

Smoking a La Aurora Preferido #3 maduro sungrown as I type this... :drevil:
Why? Because I can!

I'll admit, walking by Sosa's and smelling the tobacco is not the most unpleasurable experience I've ever encountered.

I just can do without the smoke.

Hey, I'm just saying in all the times I've been around cigars (and while I'm not a high roller by any means, I've been around a few, with access to the finer things) I've never once inhaled the aroma of a cigar and went "Aw, yeah, that's the stuff."

For all the cigar lovers on board, I certainly hope this new place is what you expect it to be.

I agree. Cigar smoke is a whole new ballgame, but I understand that many are bothered by both (not a fan of cigarette smoke myself).

I think the difference is how it is approached. Cigar bars tend to be more insulated (people don't leave with the cigar.) Part of the experience is being at the bar itself. Can anyone post the location. The ultimate, I would think, is if they somehow installed an isolated patio over the water where you could be above the crowd but smoke outside. I would LIVE there on my vacation. Get a nice Tom Collins and one of Sosa's specialties, and it would be a nice end to the day. :)
