I was just on the phone with US AIR just to see how much it would be to switch to an earlier flight on the the day we leave for Disney when I got a HUGE surprise!! My original flight was from PHL to MCO on the 13th of Sept at 3:55pm and arriving at 6:20pm. So last night I was on usair.com and saw that they were offering a 1:50pm and arriving at 4:17 on the same day. Just for curiousity sake I called USAIR today and asked how much it would be to fly on an earlier flight never specifying the time of my departure. So the VERY VERY nice lady informed me of "standby." I was game for riding standby if possible cause we would have already been at the airport, no harm in trying to leave a little early for the World:animwink: When I told her that we were on the 3:55 flight she informed me that I was scheduled for the 1:55 flight!!!! Now mind you I was calling to see if I could get on this exact flight she was telling me I was scheduled for. You could have knocked off my chair with a feather!!! I had gone through priceline to get the ticket on May 31. They never called to inform me that the flight time had been changed!!!! So the nice lady at USAIR emailed me my new flight info and also got me seats behind the bulkhead cause I will be 7 months preggo when we go to Dis. I would definately not recommend using PRICELINE.COM EVER!!!! So please if anyone has booked with priceline please call the airline you are flying and check your flight info is correct with them.

Actually, I always think it's a good rule of thumb to call 2 weeks before departure, and then a few days before departure, to confirm all your plans are in order. If you talk to a human instead of a computer, take the humans name and the time you called. s**t happens to everyone once in a while. I'm not excusing priceline for what may be shoddy customer service, I'm just saying, when it comes to stuff like flights, best to be overinformed. I'm glad, in your case, you found out and it actually worked out to your benefit.

Those travel "search engine" sites are notorious for doing things like this. Definitely always make sure you confirm your reservations over the phone the day before you travel (depart and return).

That was the first time I didnt book though the airline directly. Needles to say I will never do that again.

And YES Slappy I will definately be checking the flight home while in Dis.

The same goes for booking your flight through WDW. We are flying Airtran, and our flight home has changed the time 3 times now, and Iv'e only recieved ONE notice by snail mail of a change months ago!

Make sure you have your flight number and keep checking.

I'm on the Airtran website once a week to keep up with my res. and make sure nothing changes on me!

Hmmmm Disney really tried to push Airtran on me...which would have saved me a bit but I prefer a certain carrier we always use. He suggested it several times....they must have a relationship.....

I think Airtran has some connection with Disney cause if you try and book a flight with them Airtran is always the first on to pop up so to speak. But i always go through the airline web page, just seems to be easier and less stressful. I should have listened to my own advice.

Well i am booked directly with Usair and they changed my flight coming home . But they never informed me, I was just checking from previous experience and found it on my own , but mine is not for the better. It has us leaving 2 hours earlier on our trip back I picked the latest flight so I could spend more time at the World on our last day. ALso I would have prefered Airtran we have used them before and liked them.

This practice is far from unusual for the major airlines. In my experience they can change often up to about 2-4 weeks prior to departure. After that and the schedules are pretty much set. I normally book 5 or more months out and the schedules and flights usually change multiple times.

I do not notice this practice with the low cost airlines much. I've been using Allegiant Air mostly the past year or two and they have yet to change the schedules after published the first time.

I find it funny that my flight has changed...by two minutes earlier:shrug: That is definatly going to get me to get an earlier van ride to the airport. Knowing the way that things get delayed at Boston Logan it is probably going to leave the gate 15 minutes late anyways.

I actually received an email saying my flight info had changed, so I called Expedia and they said the flight had been bumped up to 8:50am instead of 10:30am. Funny thing is....the 8:50 flight was the one I had previously considered booking! Good thing is, we'll get into MCO around 11 instead of almost 1. :D

I do think I'm going to double check two weeks or so before we leave.....just to make sure things haven't been changed again.

For anyone connecting or flying out of DFW to Mco on American Airlines in the month of September. American has changed all the flight numbers and departure times out of DFW. As well as seat assignments they have changed the aircraft from MD-80's to 757's

Depending on how far in advance you book your flight, the airlines will change flights, times, plane size, cancel, re-add, etc. Thus you're seats will change with the flights. Being a frequent flyer, I can tell you...check it, make no assumptions. Check a few weeks out, a few days out, then the night before. If your airline has updates via e-mail or cell phone, do that too as it's free and will help when leaving WDW and during bad weather.
