For the past 11 years, my family and I have gone with it being the 4 of us. We now stay at Coronado Springs, and we would like to bring my friend this year. To do this, would we have to get a suite, or could we get a standard room and add another person. the suite is just too expensive, so I'm wondering if adding another person to the usual room is possible or whatever.

thanks for your time.

I'm not sure if Coronado has any rooms that sleep 5 (when I stayed there in 2002 there were only 4 of us, so standard 4 to a room worked). But I do know that some deluxe resorts have rooms that sleep 5. I've stayed at both Grand Floridian and Contemporary where they have a day bed in the room in addition to the 2 queen size beds. You may also want to call Coronado and find out if they have anything to accomodate you (like the day beds or a rollaway or something). Good luck!

I am not sure when they talk about a rollaway bed that it means you can have 5 guests. It may mean that you can have an extra bed in case you have people who don't want to share a bed. You should check.

Port Orleans Riverside does have rooms with trundle beds. I think they are in the Alligator Bayou portion of the resort. So they sleep 5 and since POR is a moderate resort it wouldn't be that much more expensive than CSR.

Good luck with your decision.

Would you consider connecting rooms at a value resort?

Even if you can get 5 into a moderate room, you might end up feeling a little squished. Just a thought.

The number of guests per room is dictated by the Fire Marshall and is generally based on adult occupants. An additional bed for a child doesn't push it over the limit of 4. However, 5 adults (10 years old +), would be over the limit.

The room limit at the moderate resorts is 4 people (5 at certain rooms in Port Orleans Riverside). So unfortunately there would technically be no way to get 5 in to the room. There are of course ways around this, although they aren't the most honest things to do. You can always make a reservation for four and just "hide" the fifth person. No one will question you, but you will be very cramped in that room for four.

We stayed at Port Orleans Riverside in Alligator Biou (sp) and had 2 adults and 4 kids 10, 8, 4, 3, and 1...we used the trundel bed and got a pack n play..it was a little cramped but worked for 2 weeks... YOu have to think that you dont spend all that much time in the room...hope this helps

The trundle bed is a bit small. What ages are you talking about? The last time we stayed at POR, we were told age 9 and under for the trundle bed. Check into 2 rooms with a connecting door. We like this cause it gives you and extra bathroom. Sometimes, based on the season and if there are any good discounts (check MouseSavers.com) you can get a room at a Deluxe for less than 2 rooms at a moderate and the Poly, Contemporary, Grand Floridian all have rooms with 2 queens size beds and one day bed. We go with 5 in a room all the time and have stayed at all 3 of the monorail resorts.

The max number of people in a standard room at CSR is 4.
Edited to add:
If there are more than two adults in the room you will also be charged an extra $15.00 a night per extra adult.

The Junior Suite really are pretty pricey, and I can tell you that all they are is two adjoining rooms!!!! Have you thought about just getting two rooms? With 5 people bathroom time may be at a premium anyhow if there is only one bathroom to go around. That would be my solution. Belle
