Re-read the rest of my post that you didn't quote. Almost every thread on this forum has devolved into a huge mess of fighting and disrespect. However it seems like the only threads being wiped from existence are the ones celebrating the Walt Disney Company's invigorated support of the LGBTQIA+ Community. Whether it's what you intend or not, that sends a message. Over the past few months, I've reported several non LGBT related posts mocking or attacking other members, and they're still up. When Moderation isn't being enforced equally, it absolutely feels like censorship, and I'm not the only poster to feel this way.

Removing threads because everyone is fighting in them? Then why is the Epcot sub-forum still a place? That has devolved into a toxic hivemind ready to attack anyone who disagrees. The only benefit it serves is giving people a place to talk about how much they hate what Disney is doing. But remodeling Epcot isn't the only thing Disney is doing, they are making huge strides towards becoming a more progressive and inclusive company. They have altered their core brand message to enforce this, which a HUGE deal, and warrants continued discussion. If we're barred from talking about that because people feel the need to lash out, how is that any different than people lashing out in the Epcot space?

I'm going to say it: Queer Rights Aren't Political. Sure, they've become politicalized, but the fact that we're still debating any of this is ridiculous. America was founded on 5 ideals equality, rights, liberty, opportunity, and democracy. Hell, even Disneyland was founded on the principal of equality. "To all who come to this happy place; welcome." I will say it again, if you make it your mission to take away other people's seats at the table, you forfeit your own. Moderate your website however you see fit, but I think it's wrong to stop full conversations because people can't act right.

Just to set the record straight on one thing, I am supporter of the LGBTQIA+ Community and fully support Disney's recent moves.

In regard to removing threads, there is a difference between arguing about whether Guardians of the Galaxy fits in with EPCOT and debating whether LGBT support should exist. The later is not what this forum is about, and it has been proved time after time here that in an equally represented cross section of a community, there is no common ground and there are just very opposite views which ultimately leads to a huge fight. And once again, for the record, I am a supporter of the LGBTQIA+ Community in every way.

Looking at threads that have been removed. I believe the purple wall may have been about the only LGBTQIA+ thread in the last year that was scrubbed. Largely because it was one post of actual relevant content, and about 100 posts of fighting - it served no purpose.

In fact, very few threads on this forum are deleted. I have just reviewed the history and we have a very good record for keeping things open - I believe far more than other Disney forums. I actually spend many hours a week, as does our other moderator @The Mom, attempting to keep threads open by carefully moderating individuals and posts.

And with your last point about politics, I am not an American, and have no vote in the U.S. political system.

My efforts have to been to keep this forum available to anyone of all sides of any topic, and to provide relevant and accurate information on WDW. There are times when moderation is needed, and that will not change. Sorry you don't see value to what is being done here.

Do you have the one when they installed it at Haunted Mansion?

Or better when they ripped it out?

I remember that! Machines were just outside the queue near the ramp down to the riverboat, I think? I may even have a paper FP from HM somewhere... But I'm not going to go look right now. Nope, not going to do it... at least not thoroughly. At this time. ;)

Cool.

Is this forum not dedicated to the discussion of all things related to the Walt Disney Company? Sure, it's focused on Walt Disney World, but the forums span the entire company. I think them updating the core beliefs of the company, and reflecting these beliefs across all four parks in Florida absolutely warrants discussion here. But once again, it's your website and you have every right to moderate it however you see fit. I'm just expressing how I feel disenfranchised on this site, and highlighting a reason why people aren't posting as frequently as they have previously.

I mean, the original DeSantis thread was deleted and re-instated several times. Most updates regarding the LGBTQIA+ Community don't even make it to a thread (i.e. the update that Disney is donating 100% of profits from the pride collection until the end of June. This piece of information was shared to many for the first time in that thread last night that was only "100 posts of fighting.") And it's not just threads that go missing, any conversation about it gets cleared. People post celebrating the news, and someone else comes along and turns it into a fight, and then all of it gets deleted. Are you telling us that this isn't a safe space to celebrate the company we're all here to discuss?

This isn't a direct attack on you or @The Mom , of course I appreciate the both of your efforts on this website. I genuinely apologize that my original message came off as an attack, I worded it with misplaced emotion. It’s not my place to assume anything about either of you, or actively accuse either of you anything. I've been an active member on this site for 10 years now, and have always appreciated all of the work that the both of you have put into this space, it's undoubtedly the greatest Disney forum in existence, and the both of you should be proud of what you've done here. I have no ill will or hard feelings toward either of you. But I also think it's fair to raise how I'm feeling in relation to this particular discussion covering why some people are leaving this site. I know for a fact this is why some members have left.

And with your last point about politics, I am not an American, and have no vote in the U.S. political system.

Cool, good for you. I'm genuinely jealous of you. But once again, this isn't about just the U.S. political system. The Walt Disney Company have tripled down on their support of the Queer Community, and I stand by my personal belief that it warrant's discussion on these boards. But again, it's fully your website and fully your call what gets discussed here.

I fully understand that moderation is needed, and most times I fully agree with it. But once again, I feel like when one group is saying "you don't deserve to exist in our space" and the other side is saying "yes we do," there's a clear cut right and wrong. You say it always devolves into fights, but that comes from one side. The other is just trying to protect their right to exist in a space. When you clear the whole conversation, just think about the message you're sending.

Thanks for taking the time to talk about this. Your comments have been read and taken on-board. I agree with much of what you are saying. If only it was as easy as it sounds (or should be) ;)

In regard to the specific thread from this week - I'm gong to try again. :)

That's been the issue with it since day 1. I have said since the beginning it doesn't work when everyone can have it. It's why every other park limits skip the line passes. The problem Disney has is they made people believe that you can't tour the park without it.

I’m not sure you can?

Someone started a thread that showed a screen shot of mgm waits yesterday…about 2 on a Wednesday when a bulk of Disney core customers are still in school (eastern seaboard)…

It’s not possible to enjoy that to the level needed for the price. Quagmire.
Especially the new ones that many would go to see. At least to the extent that you get back what you payed to get into the parks.

I have to say I think you’re reading it wrong.

It’s not the forum/moderators that are censoring support or perhaps making it seem like attacks are ok…

It’s a few posters who consistently - on all the charged threads - think it’s cool to put the thinly veiled homophobic and racist comments into the forums that one idiot decided was ok to put on the street these last five years. It’s the “real world” bleeding into the Disney forums. Sadly.
