Do we know if this is just a refurb, or will there be show changes?

My kid enjoyed this show very much, but I think it could be updated to reflect the current Playhouse Disney lineup without too many show changes. Just swap out the Little Einsteins portion with Oso.

Jeesh. The way things are going for Playhouse Disney, I'm not sure what they could put in there to update it (and it desperately needs updating). Oso is hardly a hit and nothing else seems to be working either. Maybe Oso will replace Pooh? Warehouse Mouse? Will Phineas and Ferb move into the Playhouse?

It seems a little early for rebranding it to Disney Jr. but Playhouse Disney won't exist after January.

It's a shame they've been so easy to move on from one franchise to the next. I miss Bear In The Big Blue House, JoJo, Johnny and the Sprites, etc. They also seem to be pushing Little Einsteins into retirement. I understand things need to remain fresh, but it would be nice to see these shows again every once in a while. The lineup now isn't nearly as appealing as it's been in the past.

Phineas and Ferb are not part of Playhouse Disney!

I would imagine nothing is changing to the show!?! Unless they change the name to Disney Jr.!

Wow, everything is closing in January. It seems like last year they focused their efforts on MK, now that has shifted to the Studios.

Stealing the "Jr" brand from Nick can be forgiven easily if Disney Afternoon shows Duck Tales, Rescue Rangers, Gummy Bears, and of course Darkwing Duck show up as regulars.

It would be a huge step toward the Vault Disney Channel that could KILL if ever launched.

I would love to see the Disney Afternoon lineup back again!

I took my daughter to this show last year, and while she danced and had a blast I wondered what the old show was like (my daughter is only 3) and wondered if it would change again and how. I don't even see Little Einsteins or Tigger and Pooh on TV anymore, and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse has been moved to the late morning time slot. Oso is hardly making any noise, (a mediocre show at best anyhow), so I can't help but wonder how Disney would re-vamp the show. I unfortunately don't have any suggestions.
Funny thing is, this refurb is happening during my next trip (1/25-2/1) and when I asked my daughter how she felt about Playhouse Disney Live on Stage being closed, she said to me it was okay...we'll go again next time. Then again, this is the same girl who's first WDW attraction was The Universe of Energy last year...I should never underestimate her!!

Yeah I often get up with my 3 year old son on the weekends and he loves to watch Playhouse Disney. But what I find weird is recently they have pushed it back and have it starting at 5AM(seriously, who gets up that early?) and ending at 8-9AM, which is when my son usually gets up. If it weren't for us having DisneyWest on Dish, my son would be stuck watching Phineas and Ferb in the mornings and I'd be stuck dealing with temper tantrums cause he wants to watch Clubhouse.

I just don't understand their need to force characters into retirement when they're still popular, my son still loves Little Einsteins, but we're hard pressed to find it on. Half the time its not even playing and the rest of the time it comes on at some god awful hour early in the morning.

He doesn't like Phineas and Ferb? But anyway, I can see why they are ending Playhouse Disney early during the weekend because all of the older kids have off and they don't want to be stuck watching "kiddy shows" until 2 p.m. That's why during the week Playhouse Disney runs longer because all the older kids have school and only the younger kids are home. As for the refurb it's probably just to change the script around to promote Disney Jr. I didn't realize Oso was such a bomb, I've seen a lot of ads trying to promote him and isn't he coming to the Play and Dine soon? Oh well, doesn't really matter to me, I still say they bring back Bear in the Big Blue House, that was a great kids show.

I don't know OSO has kind of grown on me. I mean Sean Astin and the more I watch I "see" Phil LaMarr or whatever his name is, Moseby from Suite Life. Playhouse Disney should stay, but what if they could alternate shows during the day for PD and some of the Disney XD lineup. My younger son will watch MMCH, OSO, and Handy Manny. Not so much Imagination Movers. My older son loves P&F, Kick Buttowski, Fish Hooks, and Kid vs. Kat.

Good God not Oso! I hate that sigment. That stupid bear grates my nerves. lol. He's supposed to be helping but the kids always know what to do and tell HIM how to do it and where are the parents?! lol. see what we SAHMs talk about?

I wonder what could they be refurbing about it? I thought it was fine the way it was. Pooh, LE, MCH, and HM are staples of playhouse disney. They never faded.

I agree on the time shift with PHD. We used to be able to watch it until 12pm(ish) when it would switch to the older stuff. Now, we click in time to catch back to back Oso and Handy Manny.

I miss JoJo's circus and Rolie Polie Olie. I think my kids would have gotten a kick out of that. My son loves Imagination Movers but we never catch that either.

Interested to hear what they're refurbing. I thought the decor was fine.
