Planning too far in advance?

My wife and I get too excited for our Disney trips.

The first few times we went together we did not plan anything and just did everything randomly.

Last year thanks to the MyDisney Experience we planned everything and felt we got so much more done.

We are 101 days out from our next trip and have already booked all our meals, park days and rides.

Now we gave nothing left to do but wait. It's torturous!

i'm about 120 days out and i find myself near obsession already. trying not to "over" think things and switch out reservations or anything

We are still 443 days out and I am already planning. This will be the first trip for my parent's and my sister's family. I have been going over everything and planning it all out already.

You cannot plan too far ahead. Going in august and planned a year in advance. Also just planned a weekend get away for March. I get to plan two (short) visits at once.

I am. I'm planning out our late 2017 trip to Disneyland in California already. LOL

We're planning for Oct/Nov 2015. It's never too early to plan your trip!

Planning elongates the trip! After all the big things like dining and FP+, I begin to color coordinate outfits that will go well with a particular park, or meal

There is no such thing as planning too early!! I do find, the earlier I start planning, the more I change my mind! LOL Plan for your *must dos* and leave some wiggle room to make changes/add experiences

We are planning for x-mas in 2016, planning a disney cruise for 2018. Planning is part of the magic for us

We are definitely planners. We like to have the major details set up early and out of the way. We find that no matter how much we have planned ahead theres always something else we decide to add on or tweak. Waiting IS torture but once the hard planning is done you can have fun deciding on dreaming of extras or filling in gaps in your days plans. We have friends who hate to plan even the slightest detail, fly by the seat of their pants, but they sometimes lose out and dont get the results we planners do. You say you have nothing left to do but wait... I say wait and dream of the fun you're going to have and dream of something else you might love to do.

I agree with you guys and it is killing me that I'll have a bunch of food ressies before I technically book my package. I guess that's what you get for going in January.

We're planning for October 2014, for January 2015 and a couple months ago I asked our favorite rental to pencil in our winter dates for 2016, because we know we'll want it and don't want to lose out on that particular house.

True. The good news is that now we're a known quantity: we pay on time and don't trash the house, so we're desirable guests and they've been giving us great deals. It's not easy to find a vacation house that takes a large dog!

Josh and I are taking an adults only trip to celebrate our 10 year anniversary next year and I'm already over the moon excited at the possibilities!!!!
