Planning too far in advance?

My wife and I get too excited for our Disney trips.

The first few times we went together we did not plan anything and just did everything randomly.

Last year thanks to the MyDisney Experience we planned everything and felt we got so much more done.

We are 101 days out from our next trip and have already booked all our meals, park days and rides.

Now we gave nothing left to do but wait. It's torturous!

I am 490 days out as of today and doing a fair bit of planning already, I also have a bag into which I put items for our vacation that I will buy between now and next Nov, saves me buying everything at once.

Plus the jars in the kitchen for saving money!

I love the JAR idea... Definitely something to think about for future trips :)

My planning is backfiring. We have friends who are going to WDW in November, 2 weeks after our next trip, and there's no flexibility for either pair of us to change dates and go together like we would want to. So after some back and forth over text with the husband of the couple, I side-tracked, planned our entire trip to DL for Spring Break 2015 (my DH and his DW are both in the school system). So as of a month ago I planned our whole trip in a day (3 days in DL/DCA, one relaxing, 2 sightseeing in SoCal) and booked our lodging too.

Now I'm constantly tweaking the plan, and considering changing resorts... we shall see! I'm definitely the type who enjoys planning, and I'm hoping to make a great trip for everyone in our group!

Will probably start planning December 2015 in November 2014. I have 1700 Disney $$$ on my Visa and $900 in Disney gift cards, plus building up $$$ on my Discover Card (over $400 right now). My goal is 3500 for our trip. That should cover tickets (6 days) resort (8 nights). HOPEFULLY!!:p
