Planet Earth to take over The Land?

One of my favorite disney blogs is hinting that a 12 minute version of the new Disneynature film "Earth" may be heading for the Circle of Life Theater. I thought this might be the next logical choice and mentioned the possibility on WDWMagic recently.

Before you question the source keep in mind that disneygossip only posts on rare occasions but the blogs track record is outstanding!

I applaud this upgrade because it is an absolute return to the original Epcot Center mission, which is still as visionary today as it was in 1982.

Now if they would only let the Planet Earth folks produce an original Soarin' film for The Land pavilion. :king:

Im welcome to the idea. Circle of Life isnt bringing in packed theatres and a new attraction of any kind is always exciting!

It`s about time. Circle of Life is vintage 1994 for the pavilions first rehab. Whilst it still uses some Symbiosis footage too, a new draw is needed.

I very much disagree with the bolded part, but yes this would be a great welcomed addition and upgrade to the theater.

Wow, two excellent uses of synergy in one week? I think this would be a very appropriate update in the spirit of EPCOT Center. Bonus points if there are agriculturally focused portions of the movie that will be featured for this.

While Disney's Earth might be more DAK based, SURE!:D

This is synergy I can believe in...I'm secretly hoping for a film on the Seas (Bye Nemo!:D), Energy, Space, and all the rest. This could be a wonderful key to unlock the hidden wonders of the Future World.;)

The Disney Nature, Earth film is being produced by the same people as the Discovery Channel's Planet Earth and is being advertised that way.

A great idea, kinda a no-brainer. Seems to really go well with the pavilion. Back when the first series came out to DVD and I worked in a video shop, the popularity was just crazy. Definitely a welcome addition.

If this is going to be a change....then I welcome it.

I did notice a few of the Symbiosis leftovers in Circle of Life, along with a brief scene that also appeared in Tokyo Disneyland's Meet the World.

I think you misunderstood what I am saying. It is not that Epcot 2009 is the same as Epcot circa 1982. What I am saying is that the 1982 version should never have been diluted because the concept is still just as valid and relevant more than 25 years later.

Really, now! Which one?

I don't believe it is the same documentary they are only using the Planet Earth footage in the commercials. Totally new movie as far as I can tell.

I do think marketing has made it confusing though. If the new movie is just a re-edit of the Planet Earth series I don't think it will do well in theaters.

Good point, but I would say that it is less Animal Kingdom-y than Circle of Life.

They should get the narrator for "The Seas" to do Disneyearth (or whatever it's called). Although, I pretty much think she should do the narration for everything.

I know what you mean but James Earl Jones is not a bad second choice.
