I think the refurb is still on the table but Pizza Planet might be going away as it is now.

Does anyone know if Pizza Planet and Mama Melrose share a kitchen area?

There's a part of me that does not understand for the life of me how anyone could "love" the PP/PF pizza. 2/3 bread with a smidgen of cheese and a ladle of sauce. Could it be you are just starving and pizza is still pizza no matter how bad it is? If there was a Pizza Hut kiosk right next door with comparable prices what would you do?

But different strokes for different folks, I like Brussel Sprouts what do I know?

As far as a refurb I stand with the crowd that thinks they should turn PP into a Muppet place, re-imagine PP in Toy Story Land.

As far as Mama Melrose, again, it's a comparison thing, it's the best of mediocre options.I honestly think it's the best table service place in DHS, however to me, that is not saying much. I would not miss it, if it were re-imagined.

Well, Magic Kingdom flat bread pizza is just "crackers with tomato paste and cheese on it". That' s not even pizza. How hard is it just to have normal pizza at the Magic Kingdom. You can't find it anywhere unless you park hop to Hollywood or Animal Kingdom.

If you can't make good normal pizza, you make thin crust, it's easier. The flat breads at Pinocchio Village Haus are decent, but any local pizza place is going to have better pizzas.

Well, the plot thickenings.... I'd like to think that the space could be used as part of a second Muppets attractions, but know that's being way too optimistic.

I'd prefer to see the space converted to a new Muppet themed quick serve though rather than it just becoming some sort of rest area.

You guys hearing anything about what this might end up being? Could we finally be getting the Swedish chef layover we've been hoping for or will it just be a generic restaurant (or God forbid be some displaced pizza planet still)

Don't expect generic anything as the park redo goes on, but beyond that, can't comment.

Not to get off topic, but for my money Via Napoli at Epcot World Showcase has the best pizza of any Disney property. It's actually good pizza. Not just good 'for Disney.'

I agree completely! We ate there for the first time on our last trip...my kids were both saying, "dad, make sure we eat here again on our next trip!"

I've said this before, but I live in a city that is incredibly diverse and has amazing restaurant offerings...there isn't a whole lot I could eat at Disney that someone isn't already doing better at home. But there are some that I just love eating at...some for food..some for the experience. Raglan Road and Ohana come to mind. I'll definitely be making reservations at Via Napoli again.

Am I the only person who actually the pizza at Pizza Planet? Sure it was small, but it really tasted good. I remember eating the entire pizza since the sauce and cheese were yummy. I am disappointed with the amount of arcade cabinets they have.

I actually didn't think it was that bad. I am always surprised, actually, at how edible the QS pizza is at WDW. Much better than their version of burgers and fries.

Love real neopalitan pizza. Hard to make though because you need a special oven that heats it up to a really high temperature for about 30 seconds. Those ovens are expensive.

The Epcot napoli is very expensive at 21 dollars for a small pizza and kind of hard to get to. (But then again a lot of the countries in Epcot are hard to get to because of the gigantic lake

I agree it is expensive, but FOR DISNEY and MY MONEY, it is the best pizza on property. That greasy slop at Pizza Planet, the wafer thin cracker "flatbreads" with chef boyarder spread on the top, or the two inch thick disgusting crust at many of the hotels is absolutely repulsive.

I always did wonder why they used the name Pizza Planet for such a generic little place... after all the name does evoke the awesome place from the movie with the huge arcade, the spaceship, and the weird milkshake dispensers (that i would pay so very much for). I feel like this restaurant was a placeholder or something put in for the extra capacity the park once had and so more food was needed. I just can't wait to see this place used for a better purpose! I still remember the sad little arcade from my experience there a few years back and thinking about how desolate the place looked!
