Pirates Queue

Both sides of the queue have scrims up in the direction facing the "center" between the two queues. A peak behind one of the scrims on Saturday night showed work lights and concrete ripped up on the floor.

Just got home from spending the day around the World, and the first set of scrims that were up in the queue have been removed revealing... new floor tile. Nothing else exciting that I was able to see. Props looked the same or at least similar to what had been there. But the tile and grout looked new.

The rest of the scrims were still up. But I'm not sure if there will be anything exciting when they come down. Has anyone else even heard anything new about this recently?

We need time for things to happen.
Some pics of the queue. These are all from the right side of the queue, just past where you can see the chess playing skeletons. Cannonballs lodged in the walls: http://twitpic.com/a6l4vm http://twitpic.com/a6l4wf http://twitpic.com/a6l526 http://twitpic.com/a6l66p http://twitpic.com/a6l8u7
Thanks for taking the time out to post the pics. Good to see pirates getting some love. I'm glad to see the cannonballs aren't talking, lighting up or playing music when you touch them........for now.

Great pictures. Its encouraging to see something done that didn't need to be done but was apparently done only to add to the current experience. Unless these cannonballs are more than just cannonballs...

Pity that it is happening at Pirates where there are other things that (you could argue) actually NEED to be done (Davy Jones/Blackbeard projection, sub-par audio, multiple missing effects, etc)

I'm sorry, am I sounding too doom and gloom? Apologies.

You needn't apologize to ME. Pirates needs the same brilliant refurb the Mansion got, in my opinion.

Not sure if this would fit in the WDW Pirates queue, but I've always wished they'd find some way to incorporate the unused ghostly audio tracks from the original attraction. This would probably fit best in the extended treasure rooms of the Disneyland version, but I hate the way the Jerry Brockheimer movies have been eroding the look and feel of the original ride. Maybe they could pipe this audio in at some point in the corridor as a more foreboding alternative to "A Pirate's Life for Me".

If you want to hear it, click on "ghostly recordings" on this site: http://tellnotales.com/audio.php

Oh, and bring back the barker parrot!

i don't think they have enough room for that. plus it would ruin the que. the beauty and charm is you really feel like a pirate going though the que seeing what the pirates would have seen. it also it great because it allows for a huge line to move through quickly, efficiently, and in the comfort of air conditioning while waiting.

Disney do something sneaky with Cannonballs...never...no way...they would not do that..... well maybe an RFID reader or a camera so they can charge to take pics.

first mermaids and now this? :( Haunted Mansion was cutesy, but this is ridiculous. PotC isn't supposed to be funny and whimsical all around

I thought you're supposed to be a Spanish garrison solider before the ride starts.

When the initial queue line splits, one side is for "soldiers" the other is for riders that choose to be "pirates".

I'm all about changes to enhance rider experience and Disney preemptively attempting to create a more immersive queue areas (Although PotC Has a Great Queue Already). As long as this isn't more of the films getting shoehorned into the ride, they get my vote.

Is the Davy Jones effect still broken? It was down in early February during my last visit but I haven't heard any updates lately. How hard of a fix could it possibly be?
