According to comingsoon.net, this is the title and release date of the new movie.

Can anyone validate this information? If so, it makes perfect sense with the second one.

Third Pirates Title Confirmed?

A rumor broke out recently that may have accurately revealed what the full title for Pirates of the Caribbean 3 is. 'TomJRdhd' writes today:

"I work at a Disney Store in the UK and we had loads of information on upcoming Disney Films up until 2009 on the notice board. The one thing that I found interesting was we had the full title to Pirates of the Caribbean 3...It's full title is Pirates of the Caribbean: World's End."

The plot for the third film is currently under wraps, though the film will of course see the return of Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley in their starring roles. It is scheduled for a May 25, 2007 release date.

With Walt Disney Pictures' Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest opening this Friday (did we mention you should stay until the end of the credits?), not much is known about the third film, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, coming Memorial Day 2007.

BANG Showbiz senior editor Simon Thompson tells ComingSoon.net that he caught up with Kevin McNally, who plays Joshamee Gibbs (Captain Jack Sparrow's number two), at the premiere in London last night and asked him about the third installment.

"The only thing I can say is that we go to a completely other part of the world and we face a completely new range of baddies which are even worse than the ones we've faced before - they're really, really evil and nasty - even more so than Davy Jones, although he'll be back of course," the actor revealed.

McNally continued: "The supernatural stories stay there and there is a big new supernatural element that's much bigger than the ones we've had before."

When asked about the location for the new movie he said that they are "heading to Singapore. If I told you any more I'd have to kill you."

Chow Yun-Fat will play Captain Sao Feng, the leader of the villains that McNally refers to above.

There are two possible subtitles for the 3rd movie being floated around. The most popular is "At World's End", which given what Tia Dalma says at the end of DMC, would seem to be an appropriate title.

The other subtitle I've heard is "Calypso's Fury". I don't know (or necessarily want to know) many spoilers for the 3rd film, so I can't provide a reason for that subtitle.

I read these 2 plot outlines at imdb.com...makes sense since this was implied in POTC 2 :hammer:

Indeed it does seem that it will be "At World's End." Uncharted Waters just ties in so well with them saving Jack from Krakken into the unknown territories of the China/Sinnapore area. I can't wait till 3. So many cliffhangers to reveal. Some of the best set-ups for the next movie I've seen.

The tour guide at MGM's backlot tour said that the official title was "At World's End", which I like best of them all.

I smell prequel.

Hollywood goes with what works (sadly) Dead Man's Chest is a huge hit...I doubt this is "the end" for the franchise.

I hope they don't make a fourth one, or a prequel. That just smells of Star Wars...

It worked once for someone. That doesn't mean everyone needs to do it; but sadly, that seems to happen a LOT. :veryconfu Three is enough...more is just spreading it thin.

I just read an article about Pirates 3 and Disney said the/at worlds end title is not the official title. They said they would have something official in the next month or 2. I think they are mad because someone got it out before them so they are just saying its not official.:lol: I like the worlds end title, it seems like it would be a good fit. I can't wait for the #3! Some people are saying Jack Sparrow will fight his way out of the Kraken, but I think they will save him from Davy Jones' locker. The previously dead Barbossa must have escaped from there, that is why Tia Dalma said he knew those waters. I heard the talk of the Chinese pirate and looked at the Capt. Jack Sparrow samauri pics. Will this movie take place more in Asia? But then it wouldn't really be Pirates of the Caribbean unless you sethink of it as it featuring pirates from the Caribbean. Any way, I hope they go on to make more. We need move Entertainment movies instead of these dull pictures Hollywood keeps dropping on us. Johnny Depp said he is willing to make 4, 5, and 6.
