We have booked the one at the Yacht club because it better fit in our plans on that day. We go in Dec. I was wondering too if they are all alike or each different and one any better than the other. Yes they took my credit card for $30.01. They will charge me on it if we do not show up or if you forget to cancel in 24 hours. Hope someone can answer our questions as well.

When we made the reservation we got told to be there half an hour before and that he will need socks and that there will be a little lunch for them(peanut butter sandwiches) and he will get a pirate headscarf

We were told 15 minutes before and to wear socks and sneakers or he wouldn't be allowed on. They hike some for the treasure I think. Some of the trips say they get a plastic sword. I just hope they all do the same thing and get the same thing. We are eating at the Yacht Club at the Captains Grille for breakfast while he is on the adventure. I am excited for him. Wonder if it would be ok to wear a little more pirate gear. He has a costume. Maybe the waste band and patch???? Not the whole get up. Wouldn't want him to look out of place.

There is no "pirate" adventure at POR, but there is a "jester" one. From All Ears:

Port Orleans Riverside - Sassagoula River Adventure Cruise. Children travel along the Sassagoula River to learn the "Jester's" way of life. Along the way they explore the Sassagoula River and finally meet the character known as the Jester. The cruise is held Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. for children ages 4-12. Cost is $28.17 plus tax per child. Call 407-WDW-PLAY to make reservations.

If you're interested in a pirate themed one, the CBR has a new one:

Island of the Caribbean Pirate Adventure - For children ages 4-10 (must be potty trained) -- young adventurers, wearing pirate bandannas, will board a boat to sail the Ports of the Caribbean, just like Captain Jack! They will be told the story of Old Port Royale and of the pirates that used to sail the waters. They will find props and signs leading to treasure. Once they recover the treasure, they will sail to Fort Cay and trade for some grub (lunch). When they return to Old Port Royale, they will unlock the treasure chest and bounty will be shared by all. As of 1/14/07, operates Sundays, as well as Tuesdays from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. $28.17 per child pus tax. Lunch: Peanut Butter and Jelly Uncrustables, Gummy Bears, Gold Fish Treats, and Apple Juice Box. Call 407-WDW-DINE for information on the resort marina at 407-934-2850.

I might be able to help.

My two girls were 8 and 6 when they went on the Pirate Adventure at CBR. I wasn't sure if they'd like it, or if it would be geared towards boys too much.

They had a great time. They took a pontoon boat, and went from island to island searching for clues to a treasure. They were told pirate stories along the way, too.

They were fed a lunch half way through... They didn't really like it too much, but it held them over. Then eventually they found the treasure, which was individual bags for each kid with trinkets and candy and stuff like that in it.

They really liked it and had a good time.

I called yesterday and made a reservation for my 4.5 year old son for the Port Orleans Pirate Adventure for early May 2009. The CM said that it was Pirate Adventure and that it was based on the "Legend of Captain LaFitte", the most famous pirate on the bayou.

Has anyone had their kids do this pirate adventure from Port Orleans with this new theme? Comments?

Our grandson had a blast... All of them even a little bit older kids that they had did as well and there were girls as well. We did eat at the Captains Grill while he was on the boat and had a great breakfast. I think any prot they will have great fun. We had 2 pirate girls who did the cruise and they both did a great job at entertaining the kids, as well as the pirate who they chased.

My 8yo daughter went on this version from POR in March 2009 and absolutely loved it. We booked the Sunday @ 9:15am trip. They depart from the main POR marina. We were told to be there 30 minutes beforehand, but the first CM arrived around 9:30a and they departed around 10:00a. Even if they depart late they still keep the kids out for the full 2 hours. They recommend you be back in the area around 10 minutes before the boat returns.

Check-in is at the boat/bike rental stand. They have you fill out a contact form and pay for the trip. You are given a "claim ticket" for your kid.

The "Pirate Ship" is a beat up pontoon. It looks a little rough, but the boat pilot maneuvered it just as well as any other Disney boat. Managed pretty well for only having a 50 horse outboard Mercury. :)

My daughter's cruise had around 20 kids of all ages. Even mix of boys and girls. There were three CMs, not including the boat pilot, to watch over them. All children are provided bandannas and life vests before boarding.

They make several "raids" at the other resorts to gather clues to a puzzle. At DTD they are fed uncrustable PB&J sandwiches, fruit, and a juice box. When they arrive back at POR they bring the kids into the lobby to solve the puzzle and get various goodies out of the Pirate chest.

The kids should be wearing shoes. Also, they must be potty trained. It probably also helps if they are a bit independent.

Edit - Sorry, I don't have any pics...
