Well, I FINALLY go to see this movie! And yeah, I really liked it. If only the crew of "The Country Bears" had the same common sense as this one's crew... I mean, I'd say me and my brother were laughing and rooting at things that 95% of the theater didn't get, and still all were able to enjoy it.
Kudos to Johnny Depp for his work, as Geoffrey Rush and all the pirate crew, they managed to do pirates without making it too cartoony or common-ground.
Bloom and his chick princess were ok, and they actually managed to not ruin the story with the lovey-dovey act. Instead, she was the best "girl in distress" I've seen in a while, she was actually doing stuff instead of just running and scream.
Bottom line, I've seen many reviews and people's opinions around here saying the movie was good because of Depp, or because of Bloom. I say those people should watch it again. The story itself was fairly common, but the *dialogue* was incredibly inspired, and if this movie succeeded this great it was because of the great nods it gave to the attraction and because of its dialogues. They managed to create perfect interaction between the characters, and you can have the best actors in the world in fron tof the camera, if the dialogue is crappy they'll sink. Whoever wrote this movie's dialogues should definately get the highest praises for this work.
