Picture of new SSE vehicle screens!

I don't see it as any more obtrusive than the frontseat headrests were for backseat riders. Most of what you're looking at is to either side (or occasionally above you) anyway.

As for only having one screen for two riders and comparing it to Test Track, there's a slight difference between SSE and TT. On TT, they try and fill every single seat in every car. So you have a good chance of sitting next to a stranger. On SSE, they never sit strangers in the same row. So you *should* know the person next to you for the interactive part.

I was going to make the same point. For those of you out there who want your own screen...Dont Worry, we all know that after the initial buzz settles down you can probably ride in your own car again and again and again. But who knows, perhaps Siemens will turn this into a MUST RIDE and it will regain some of its original popularity...

I wonder if the same person who is assigned to clean the mirror column will also have to clean all of the touchscreens before they leave at night. :lookaroun

Seriously, they need to once again add a railing and some shrubs, because now people are walking right up to it, pressing their hands against the mirror and and just staring at themselves.

Off topic, but what is the deal with that? (I don't have MySpace, but there are a plethora on Facebook, too) Do people think it's clever/artistic/deep? I can't count the number of people around here who have pictures of themselves looking into the "Bean" mirrored sculpture in Millennium Park (Chicago).

Screens are much bigger than I had expected.
well, i agree, but if your going to add screens, might as well add screens that are big. :D

I have a major problem. I thought they were changing the cars. I HATE those seats, they are the most uncomfortable seats I have ever sat in. The screen is great but where are the cushions for the seats and your neck?
right down the street at McDonalds. order the Big Mac Combo biggie size a few times and that seat might have a little more cushion. kidding. the budget for seat cushions went to the destruction of the wand. sooooo, comfy seats or the deconstruction of the wand? ill take the later.

I hope that those screens are cleaned at least twice per day. Once during the day and once after hours.

I don't mind not having cushions. I love the feeling of slamming your head into a plastic seat. :lookaroun

I guess my question about the screens would be, even though they look interesting, is the descent back down going to be watching the screen only with no sets or atmospheres? I guess Im worried that instead of them making new environments on the way back down etc, its going to strictly be watching the monitor and everything will be surrounded with black curtains and backdrops with nothing more.
Hopefully not though. I'll be patient still and let them do what they need to do but oh the anxiety lol. :animwink:

I wonder if I will be able to check my email, look at WDWMAGIC, and book a reservation for Le Cellier while riding SSE? :lookaroun

A moving WorldKey kiosk! Now more than ever, Americans are crying out for new gadgets to distract them from quality vacation time. This is a superb idea!

You ever watch Nascar? They have cameras mounted inside the cars and when the lens gets dirty, a piece of plastic film rotates over the lens to reveal fresh clean plastic protection for the camera lens.

That's how it SHOULD be done with the screens! :D :lookaroun

With how bumpy the attraction is, I hope they put something on my head-rest!!
And the touch screens do look nice. I'm sure the final product will be good!

Well the thing is, the attraction probably won't be so bumpy after the refurb. The cars have all been removed and worked on, so I'm sure they have worked on the track (as far as I know the track has been the problem, not so much the Omnimovers themselves). I'm not sure what exactly they needed to do or how difficult track maintenance is (obviously much more possible with the cars off the track, as they have been), but I find it hard to believe they wouldn't do something to relieve the bumpiness. Seimens is putting good money into getting the attraction looking brand new, and much of that depends on the ride's smoothness...methinks they must have at least oiled it up. Thus, hopefully, no reason for cushioned headrests on the new ride.

Why are they adding a screen to the vehicle?

The end of the ride will have a "choose your own future" feature where, presumably (judging by how it worked in Horizons), the touchscreen will display three or four different "futures"--probably something medical, something car-related, and something with a city--that you and the members of your car vote on. Then (and the specifics of this are not known) you will be able to see some sort of moving image of you and your family/friends in the future you all chose.

I dont know about the screens...IOM they will make it so your eyes will not be able to adjust to see all the details of the ride that are dark to start with.

The hard plastic seats still look as uncomfortable as ever.

Will the video screen be distracting enough to take your mind off your aching bum, neck and back?
