OK I am bored. I was just thinking...

I found out recently that I Love Pickled Eggs. Who else here has an unusual appetite and what is it you like? I'm sure their are some with much more extreme tastes than I.

Boredom and Curiousity... I see a gross out thread, so be forewarned, but do be serious. :hurl:

When I was a wee lad, I used to eat Penut Butter, Dill Pickle, and Ketchup sandwiches.

That's all together on one sandwich, mind you.:hurl:

Don't think I could handle it now.

I've had that, when I was little. Don't know if I could now though. :hurl:

Anyone here eat Brains & Eggs. I could never. But my father-in-law loves them along with his head cheese sandwiches. :hurl:

When my wife was a kid, she used to make "Specialty Sandwiches". It was lunch meat--not bologna or salami, it was called lunch meat--open-faced with cottage cheese. What a nasty combination.

I've never had brains and eggs, but I've heard it's pretty good. When I used to live in Louisiana, we knew people who would eat squirrel-head gumbo and they would crack open the skull of the squirrel and eat the brains out. I like gumbo, but I couldn't bring myself to ever eat that (but I would suck the head and tails of crawfish).

Your Squirrel Brains remind me of the Monkey heads in the Indianna Jones and the Temple of Doom movie. Remember that meal  :

Deep fried pizza, or fried Mars bars. Cause if it can be cooked it can be deep fried, the motto of all traditional Scottish chefs

A mars bar is a chocolate bar with soft toffee and chocolate filling with the equivelant sugar as three cans of Coke. but in a batter and deep fried. A traditional Glasgow delecacy.:hurl:

Wow, I thought my brother and I were the only people in the world who did that. But now we know there are at least 4.

Yep, I tried to find a picture of it, but it's just too gross. No one shows it on the net.

I've had brains before.....:hammer: Not with eggs, just as a taco. It doesn't taste much different from tongue, which, in turn, tastes pretty much like other parts of chopped cow. Hearts are kind of tough and chewy, though.

Anyone remember the film "Faces of Death," where they showed people eating the brains of a live monkey? That was plain sick! Which reminds me of the time I went to a White Sox game with a friend of mine and we were sitting in front of a guy with leprosy.

We tried to ignore him, but then a foul ball went over our heads. My friend starts staring at the poor guy with leprosy. I told him to knock it off. But he says that's the sickest thing he's ever seen in his life. I say, so what? The guy's got a skin disease. My friend says he doesn't care about the guy with leprosy; what's really gross is the guy behind him who's dipping his nachos into the guy's flesh.

(rimshot)

Thank you, folks. I'll be here all night. Don't forget to tip your waitress and try the veal. :)

I was at a french restaurant once (and I DO mean french cuisine) and thought I'd try the "sweetbreads." I thought they were some type of pastry. The waiter was great. He leaned over and said in a very polite but soft voice, "Sir, have you ever eaten sweetbreads?" I replied I hadn't, and he asked if I knew what they were. I said I didn't, and he said "I feel you should know that sweetbreads are the pituitary gland of a calf." I kept my poker face on and ordered the lamb. He was polite enough to bring me a small sample (no charge), and it tasted like a very rich crab.

Never went back to that restaurant...
