I am going to MVMCP for the first time. I have the option of Tuesday, December 1 or Thursday, December 3. Which night in your opinion will have the smallest crowd?

Last year, we were at the MVMCP on 12/16, a Tuesday, and the event was sold out. We were at the MK on 12/18, a Thursday, and when 7 pm came, they were still announcing that tickets were still available for the party. I don't know if this is an isolated incident, but that was my experience.
We're going to be at WDW during the first week of December also, and I'm undecided about 12/1 or 12/3, but am leaning towards 12/3 because that will be our last day in the parks, and I do love spending my last night at the Magic Kingdom.

We were also in attendance on 12/16 and the reason I picked that date for us was the WDW website was billing it as one of the least attended dates. Imagine the surprise to find it sold out. We had a lot of that on our 12/13 to 12/18 trip last year, what was normally a slower time - not! I have gone to MVMCP on a Sunday in 2004 and found it quite low in attendance, then in 2005 on a Sunday it was about 3/4 of the way sold out. Either date you pick you will have a wonderful time. Enjoy the cookies and cocoa.

It sounds like ya'll went on an AP/DVC discount night. That is something the OP needs to look out for b/c it will defiantly increase crowds.

Definitely go with the Tuesday date. Less crowds during the beginning of the week! We went on Tues 12/9 last Dec and it was great. It was crowded, but no were near capacity for the party! Enjoy it's a great party!

Thanksgiving is Thursday, November 26th. On December 1st, you might still have crowds from the previous week. I'd go with December 3rd, the later date, for that reason, just to be safe. :)

There may not be a lot of difference between those two dates since they are within the same week.

Something tells me Thursday is the better choice but I don't have any reason why.

Good luck

We did it on Tuesday this past December on the 2nd and it wasn't packed at all. We waited maybe 10-15 minutes for anything and space mountain was 30 minutes. It was a pretty cold night so I people left early. The cocoa and cookies were fantastic and the kids filled up on those and ate a light supper.
