Pick-A-Pearl in Japan Pavilion

Can someone tell me exactly where it is in the Japan pavillion? We always say we're going to do this and then get side tracked. Last trip we got so close, were in Japan and were doing a little bit of shopping...next thing ya know, everyone is distracted over other things outside and it never happened. I've never seen the pick a pearl area, so I want to just make sure we can make a b-line for it and bypass all distractions.
Isn't it amazing how easily it is to get distracted and you don't realize you missed something until later on. Lol. I have a big long list of what I don't want to miss this time. Now if I actually look at it while there is another story lol

I'm actually compiling a list for my *first* WDW trip and this is definitely on it now. I would have never known about it otherwise. :)

I have had two rings and a necklace made. The necklace is a white pearl, one ring is a bluish tint, and one ring is dark gray. Our last trip we let me daughter choose one for the first time and she got twins. She was soooo excited. So of course we had to go ahead and mount them into a pair of earrings. She's only 7, so we got the cheapest setting possible, but they definitely have a wide range. I want to say my rings were in the $60 range or so.

Here are a couple of pics from the last time with the twin pearls. I'm sure we'll be doing it again this year.

DS got an 8mm pearl! The girls were amazed at how big it was- he asked them if they would like to buy it! LOL- my little salesman.

The one in Epcot is in the Japan pavilion inside the store on your left about 1/4 of the way into the store. There's also one at DTD and the Beach Club.

I know! I am forever getting new ideas for my trip on here from other members. I just don't have enough vacation time to fit it all in. Not sure if someone answered you yet but this thread is talking about the one in Japan. We did the one at the beach club and it wasn't as great as what I'm reading about here. We just may have to give this another try!

I honestly never knew about any of those. I knew sea world did have one. So I. Have a question and I hope it doesn't sound like a stupid one but do all the clams have pearls? If not do you still have to pay for the Oyster if it doesn't?

What's the price range of the settings? I'm thinking this is something I'll be doing on my trip in May :)
I think the cheapest setting runs about $20-something. They have ones going up from there, so $30-something settings, $50-something settings, etc. It just depends on what you want, the size of your pearl (some pearls won't fit in certain settings) and how much you want to spend.

All the oysters are "seeded" so there's a 99.9% chance you'll get a pearl. Should there be some kind of fluke where yours doesn't, I'm sure they would let you pick again. You will definitely wind up with a pearl out of it!

FYI - I just searched Ebay and found a ton of settings so if you are not interested in paying the mark up go on Ebay and search Pearl Settings and then narrow your search to Jewelry Design and Repair.

I think I am going to do this for our daughter on this next trip. She will be in college and is not going to get to go with us. :( This might make her feel a little better after we get back.

Do you have skype or a similar program on your phone? Then you could let her pick out an oyster over skype and you could bring it home for her! I was thinking about doing that with my niece.

Yeah. I went over things like that with her tonight. She came home from school and mentioned that one of her college prep teachers is a professor at the college she is going to and that she said it will be next to impossible for Kaitlyn to go on vacation for a whole week. :( I figured that I would Skype to her every day and see if she has made a decision on the things she wants me to buy her while we are there. As for the pearl, I don't want her to see it until I get it home.
