Dosn`t Reedy Creek limit the safe ammount of people in a MK VI? Officially a MK VI can carry 365 per train.

Hmmm... Very Tokyo Disneyland-esque...

I tend to like to stand on the Monorail anyway... to get a better view out of the windows... that is, when I can't snag the front driver's cabin...

All they need to do now is add some mickey head hand rails and you'd be set to go.

Thanks for the picture, I'm not really sure why this hadn't been done earlier, it seems like the most efficient configuration.

And if we multiply those 48 people by say a 150 lb. average you have an additional 7200 pounds.

That's a bit more than 3.5 tons.

Stupid question, but seeing as how we have seen reckless disregard for engineering specifications before - (i.e. Rocket Rods), I'm wondering what the impact of that weight would be from a maintenance standpoint. Certainly from a physics vantage point you are going to have more mass to start and stop which should have some percentage of increase in wear and tear.

I'm not saying it would ruin the trains, but I would certainly think that the consumable maintenance items would have a shorter lifespan.

Food for thought.......

I was thinking along the same lines. The trains already wobble on the track when they are in motion so, what will all the extra weight do to that? I know, they all know what they are doing, but sometimes I wonder.

M VI capacity is 365. They are never filled with more than about 320 so this will not be a problem.

Does anyone know why..

They don't reconfigure the trains to be like the ones in TDL where the seats face the sides of the train (much like a subway car) rather than front to back the way ours do?

Their cars seem much roomier than ours and more handicapped accessible (though I hear that accessibility in Japan is at a premium for the handicapped).

Folded? Yeah right. Almost every stroller I've seen on the monorail has been wide open with the child(ren) still in it, usually sleeping. No wonder there's never any room in the monorail! Now there's room for even more strollers!
You are at Disney, you have to expect children and lots of them! With Children comes strollers. Would you rather have open strollers with sleeping kids or would you rather have the parents wake them up and be riding with a bunch of screaming kids.
Thanks for the picture, I am going in October hopefully I will get to ride in one too.

I rode in Lime tonight.

It's awesometastic. No more horrible metal jiggling sound that I can't stand. Mood lighting is nice too. They secure the posts with nice - fitted - ends caps that don't jiggle. That's the best part, but the extra room is nice too.

And look and me! I'm a new-vehicle magnet. Saw a SSE vehicle all cut up, I got to ride in a new Doombuggie and here I am talking about Lime.

But, the real question is, does it still smell like a loaded diaper?

The new lighting is blue-tone too, rather then the old amber.

Sounds to me like with these new poles and lighting, all they'd have to do is add a strobe light and a little entertainment and they could be making big bucks on the late night trains, if you know what I mean! :lookaroun (OK, for legitimacy, maybe those would have to be "after-hours" transport! :goodnevil )
