Pic of Monorail Lime's 4-pole configuration test layout

Just by pure luck, I got on Monorail lime yesterday. I let out a, "oh yeaaah" when I sat down because I was staring at the 4-pole configuration I had read about. I wasn't sure how it would work without an image, and here I was with the perfect chance to show it off to everyone else.

(I turned around and took it behind me as everyone was getting off and right before everyone else got back on.)

Worked out pretty well and there IS a lot more floor space. Hope this helps for anyone who couldn't visualize what it looked like.

Nice pic. It's been awhile since I was last at WDW, but the monorails look nice and clean at least by that picture. I had read somewhere that the ones at DL were in horrible shape. Maybe that was a few years ago, I can't remember.

Aesthetically, I like the original configuration better. However, this does seem like a much more effective use of space, which translates into shorter wait times for the monorail. Probably a good decision overall.

I guess this will allow more guests into each car. For some reason there seems like a lack of poles though. Maybe its the camera angle but it looks like somebody standing in the dead center will not be able to reach a pole?

Overall this should be better for people lugging those large folded up strollers on board.

I'm not sure how much "more" space is available now that they took the middle section out. It wasn't that big to begin with. It was a little wide, but didn't have that much thickness to it.

I think it's only an illusion that there is "a ton" of more space.

I don't know. I'm going to have to check it out for myself.

It might have been a little wide, but it was thin.

Folded? Yeah right. Almost every stroller I've seen on the monorail has been wide open with the child(ren) still in it, usually sleeping. No wonder there's never any room in the monorail! Now there's room for even more strollers!

Ya, probably will accomplish getting more people crammed in (as if they don't get cramed enough). Not fond of having nothing to lean against if I'm a stander though.

Yea! More strollers!! They should have a train without seats to accomodate more of them!

Alright, yet me rephrase my statement.

It was long going across, but it wasn't really that thick, so people could still lean up against it, and not take up much room.

You're right, but it made the entrance to the car a lot more difficult because of its position. Especially on the resort beam where you'd have people that weren't getting off right away at each stop.

Don't forget though, you can easily put a row of people right down the middle. Call it 4 people, and thats an extra 48 people per train. Quite a big difference.

I guess you have a point. Still, the small section didn't take up that much room.

I have been lucky, or not since I usually get the folded stroller banged into my legs. Not sure which is worse, folded or opened up with children in it:confused:

Thanks for the pic, MissM! It looks like it is more roomy in there. If it really translates into more passangers per "car" then I'm all for it. Getting to my destination of choice faster!:)
