I just don't get the appeal of staying in these. I have never been to the South Pacific or stayed in an over water bungalow but hope to one day. A big part of the appeal will be privacy and the ability to look at/through the beautiful clear water. Perhaps jump into the water right from my patio. This will have none of that. What's the appeal?

I'm pretty sure they don't allow anyone to swim in that lake... I thought I had heard that it was unsafe due to dangerous amoeba or something?

Exactly, what is the appeal to this? The water isn't the main feature, which is the whole point of staying in a small bungalow. Without that you just have rooms that are closer to the gators than the hotel is.

THERE IS NO APPEAL! Disney is trying to 'Vacation Club' every resort because there is money in it. And they had no where else to build for the Poly except over the lake. But...people will stay there and say they love it.

My condo looked really sad when it was half built. I love it now that it's finished.

Ahh, well...you have a point.

I don't know if it's the murky water, or the large number of posts instead of a few stilts, or the fact that they line up parallel to the beach instead of extending out in the water. These remind me more of waterfront warehouses or at best the local fishing pier than quaint huts in paradise.

without the thatched roof those units look like mini Howard Johnsons...I think it looks a lil cheap.

Although I bet the inside of those suckers are going to be very very nice.

Agreed. I'm definitely going to miss the original look of Sunset Point.

Not a kool aid drinking guy here but I'll "wade" in with a opinion. I really don't think they look that bad. I'm sure finished they will even look nicer.
