Same here, even though I thought Tron looked the best, due to the arrangement of Epcot-only, it put so much irreversible wear and tear on Monorail Coral. Not to mention how much of a PITA it was to accomodate the Epcot-only provision. The TRON-o-Rail was around when I was a pilot, and it seemed like the down time we had for a train switch was only amplified when we had to make the way for Coral to go between Epcot line and the shop. Unfortunately, this whole moving billboard concept was approved by an incompetent manager who set a very ugly precedent if you ask me.

That and you were down two trains too at the time. (purple and pink)
I guess the only nice thing to come out of this, is a total paint job after the wrap comes off.

They've already done this with The Avengers and there were not any legal repercussions then so I doubt there will be any with the IM3 wrap. However, I assume that like The Avengers wrapped train, the IM3 wrapped train will not run on the Epcot beam since it enters the park.

Yeah, its incredible how they could run the Avengers line, that goes about 10 feet away from the main entrance to MK and still be legal under the contract...such a fine line.

Sorry if it's been stated, do you know the reasoning behind the "D" removal after each repaint? Thanks
Laziness and saving a few work hours. Hopefully this will be rectified soon.

This is the weakest of the wraps so far - if they had done a blend into the cab, it would have looked a bit better, but the creative concept is just weak in general. Red, you're dead on with your opinion. Unfortunately, the first time around, you generally get the top tier of creative, because someone wants to prove something and make sure they aren't slapped down for making something happen that has no precedent. Once it happens, though, it's downhill from there because there's a precedent set and people can rest on their laurels.

I think they were going for the look of IM's helmet/head.

In IM3 the suit has a more gold face, I think they were following that design, hence no blend. Although I am just looking at this from the perspective of an IM fan.

Although I've been someone that has hated the moving billboard concept, I was actually going to comment that I think this has been the best (or at least, the least offensive) wrap so far. It actually takes the look of the monorail into account, unlike the Avengers wrap, and the color scheme is more subdued than that of the Tronorail.

I go to WDW and stay on the resort to get away from the everyday reminder of the "real world". First Starbucks and now shameless movie billboards are just really disappointing. Walt would be ashamed.

The shameless billboards came before Starbucks.

I also noticed that every Lifestyler-fanboiz-website has stolen these photos from twitter and posted them on their sites.

Edit: Hey @mickey_hunter, did Rickey ask you to use those photos or offer to compensate you in any ways before he posted them on his website? Just wondering, because he's making money off your work by driving traffic to his site.

As if this is the first movie billboard in the parks or at the resort. DHS has had billboards promoting films and TV shows since day one. Also Walt had a damn FRITOS restaurant in Disneyland complete with the Frito Kid.

Supposedly if you see the monorail head on the cab looks like his helmet. Awesome.

Pretty much, unfortunately. That and the lack of attention to detail. When the mid section of Peach was in shop while the new cabs were being built off the end cars, they decided to paint the window vent visors black. I thought it looked great. However, you will notice that they neglected to do the same to the cars that the cabs were built off of. I think this makes Peach look terrible. Next time you look at Peach, you will notice the difference in the window vent visors (the angled air vents running along the triangle-shaped windows) and the inconsistency.

Actually Teal was added before then, so we had 11 trains, but still down a train. Coral was supposed to get a total repaint - that was the original agreement for the TRON wrap, the train would get a "free" paint job (not billed to the WDW transport dept). But that was another cop-out because they don't allow these trains to have the down time that they need. So next time you see Monorail Coral, you will notice as it goes by that there are at least 3 different shades of Coral from the previous paint job that was never correct to begin with. That and the deltas (white breaks in the stripe) are inconsistently stenciled out. It's actually borderline sloppy. Like I said, RIP respect for the WDW Monorail fleet.

Yeah, I'm not diggin the new monorail wrap. Worst one so far for me. Hopefully they put more effort into the next monorail wrap they come up with. However I don't despise it so much to say that I wouldn't ride it or go near it.

IF I'm going to accept the fact that they are wrapping these monorails despite our biggest protests....this one is better than the Avengers wrap, like the Stark Industries logo, but the color contrast from the front nose to the door is quite striking and I don't like that part.

In the future, I would suggest asking for money. They are running a business themselves, and taking advertising on their websites.

If they want to act like legitimate news organization, they can pay for contemt like a legitimate news organization

Hahahahahahahaha. You're wrong. See below.

Literally day one. Walt Disney (the man) pretty much INVENTED cross-branding across mediums. He built Disneyland as a way to bring you "in" to the stories that he had been telling on screen for years. Something like a dozen of the original Disneyland attractions were based on existing media properties. WALT'S original attractions were "shameless movie billboards" in the form of rides.

These were all existing TV shows, movies, franchises, etc. that had featured attractions in WALT'S original Disneyland.
Casey Jr
Dumbo
King Arthur
Tea Party
Mickey Mouse Club
Mr Toad
Peter Pan
Snow White
20K
Davy Crockett
Mike Fink

Hell, "Disneyland" itself was a TV Show.

There's a lot of complaining about bringing existing franchises into the parks at the expense of "originality" but bringing existing franchises "to life" was exactly the POINT of Disneyland. People throw fits about Avatar or Marvel or the "Pixarization" of the parks because these aren't the franchises that they've built their nostalgia around, but bringing existing franchises into the parks is nothing new.

Regarding the monorail wrap, it's not like it says "See Iron Man 3 starring Robert Downey Junior in theaters May 3." It says "Stark Industries." It's still in-story. It's still the "transportation of the future," it just happened to be invented by Tony Stark. Also it looks way more interesting than a white train with a black stripe. The casual guests love these things. Just listen to the comments the next time the Iron Man train picks you up at the TTC.
