I'm surprised the trams, boats and strollers have not recieved wraps or adveristing stickers yet.

I agree with @JimboJones123. I don't really like the monorail wraps, but I definitely would've liked to see an Oz wrap on the monorail green (is there a monorail green?). They could've done one with the Emerald City in the background with the flying cgi monkeys or something. I do have a question though as I don't fully know the terms in the contract for Disney and Uni using Marvel east of the Mississippi. So, I know WDW can't use Marvel IP in any of their parks, but can they advertise/use Marvel characters anywhere else on property like as seen here on the monorails or even use them in DD (or soon to be Disney Springs), the water parks, resorts, etc.?
I bet you one starbucks coffee that some junior executive sees that idea and within 6 months, ads on strollers - beyond on the piece of paper - become a thing.
You chronic complainers are something else. Let me get this straight. Public transportation in 2013 is full of advertising but for some reason the public transportation of the "future" wouldn't be? Also, "highway in the sky" doesn't have the term "futuristic" in front of it. You added that in quotes to make a point. If the monorail was supposed to be "futuristic" then you "show" and "theme" sticklers should be throwing a fit that it stops at the Polynesian and Grand Floridian resorts. Certainly the transportation of the future is out of place in such environments.
It's just tacky and shows Disney at their most ridiculous. The Studio just has to find a way to let people know this is a "Disney" movie (because everything still has Paramount's logo attached) and Walt Disney World won't refuse the extra money. Maybe they'll devise a bulk rate so Consumer Products can get in on the wrap action. Who wouldn't love the "themed" (the wraps are not a themed experience) Disney Princess or Disney Fairies wrap?
Agreed. The Tron wrap was cool because it turned the train into a lightcycle, which also fit because the monorails follow a "line", so it was at least themed. Kind of like Disneyland turning the monorails into "Cars" characters - it at least "makes sense." The Avengers wrap was literally just a billboard on the train, no different than you would find on a city bus.I agree with a couple of you that the Tron one was cool, the Avengers one was odd, I hope they go more Tron angle, maybe wrapping it in an Iron Man suit rather than having actual characters.
First of all, The Avengers film didn't have the Paramount logo front and neither will any of the future Marvel films.
And what experience is the payoff they receive? Slapping images onto something is a different design model that was at one time eschewed by Disney.Second, the only reaction I've heard from guests to the monorail wraps is "woah, awesome!" or "I want to ride in that one."
I never said the stripe was a theme. Not being a theme does not take away from its role in the show of Walt Disney World, a role undermined when reduced to mere potential advertising space.Even if you don't want to call it theming, I certainly wouldn't call "white with a colored stripe" a theme either.
The monorails are a highly visible image. That is why they get the wraps. A highly visible image in a place all about controlled and selected imagery is important. When people throw tantrums over non-issues like this, it reduces the credibility of their legitimate complaints.
The "Tronorail" was not themed. Nothing about the experience of riding Monorail Coral changed, it just had a different wrapper. The Cars Land monorails did have a slightly different experience with the spiels being changed and the monorails being given personalities.Agreed. Kinda disappointed we didn't get OZ instead.
They are allowed to advertise Marvel in non-attraction, non-park locations. Which is why the Marvelorails only run on the Magic Kingdom loop.
The merchandise is fine, the issue is more attractions and theme park usage. The monorail is definitely skirting the issue. Universal does have the rights to Iron Man as he is a member of the Avengers family and other members are clearly being used at Islands of Adventure.Idk if that is true... I think I have seen an Iron Man shirt in one of the shops. I think they can't make attractions or walking characters. Perhaps my memory is incorrect though. However it would make sense to see an Iron Man shirt because IM isn't featured at Uni.
