This seems like a good addition to me

Does it really make Dino-Land worse?

We enjoy meet and greets, eapecialy when it means bringing characters back that are rarely seen. It wouldn’t bother me as much I don’t think if the rest of the land felt more cohesive, because I know Disney would have made this “fit” better as well. I think this just draws more attention to how much this land feels disjointed. Especially in a park that does such a good job at story telling elsewhere.

Wow, this is real? I honestly thought this video must be fake based on how bad the visuals and backstories are. That Imagineer is also particularly unconvincing and awkward. I have young kids and I’m not usually against something like this, but this just looks ridiculous. Hopefully it doesn’t turn out as bad as this video makes it look.

This looks like Dinoland life support to me

Yep. That's what it looks like to me too.

They need to demo DinoRama (leaving Dinosaur and what works about the rest of the area alone) and build the coaster that should have been there from the start. They seem to want to build coasters so they should have at it here .... lol

The meet and greets don't really bother me but it's all a bit tacky, although tacky fits the area they're in lol.

Lipstick on a pig.

It's as tacky as Pixar Fest. This is what happens when you force things and try to appeal to a 5 year old. That's all they care about anymore. "More family friendly" .... meaning "five year old friendly"
It's what happens when a company knows they have their clientel wrapped around their finger. People eat up in the smallest pieces of **** Disney gives them and then raves because it's Disney. People get upset because of the crap they do when really there is nobody to blame for the fans because they are the ones fueling it.

True.

It's amusing to see MiceChat so gungho over Pixar Fest. Just eating it all up with praise out the wahoo ...

I agree. There are parts worth keeping, pretty much the original stuff. Demolish all the tacky and add another attraction that fits the theme. Characters can be included, but not like this. Perhaps they should have used CMM as an inspiration. Even as a “temporary” addition, it was better designed for DAK.

This isn’t life support, it’s a death sentence.

I imagine we'll be talking about the Dino-Rama area going away in a few years.

I like the Camp Woodchuck idea they had at Tokyo Disneyland, would have been fun to expand on that idea instead, giving us a national parks-esque area. Maybe not the first thing someone thinks of for Animal Kingdom but forest animals are animals too ...

That is idiotic.

It's been said before that our worst parodies have a tendency to become reality at Disney. But this surpasses that. This lunacy wouldn't even have been accepted as parody.

I thought WDI was taken over by merchandise, not by a daycare center for arrested development adults.

This is probably the worst thing I've ever seen. I disliked the Indy idea too but now suddenly I'm kind of wishing they went with that instead.

It's just so depressing that pretty much everything Disney does these days with their parks is totally fueled by whatever IP or character they want to slap somewhere. Imagination is pretty much all but dead at Imagineering.

At least DINOSAUR seemingly isn't being ed with, I guess.

I guess I just don't understand how any of this fits into the bigger story being told in Dinoland USA? Did Chester and Hester rent a bunch of very nice Disney character costumes somewhere and set up tacky meet and greets? Did the Dino Institute partner with Disney Parks and Resorts for some reason to bring Disney characters to the nature trails surrounding their building?

Whether it works for you or not, Dinoland USA has a decently cohesive story being told, but this just dumps all over it. Especially if they go through with all the awful entry decor. The hat on the skeleton is one of the worst things I've ever seen be proposed for the parks.

I really hope this isn't the first step toward the babying of DAK, the last park that has managed to maintain and stay true to its identity. Combined with the UP! show that just replaced Flights of Wonder... I'm nervous.

I can't imagine Rohde is a big fan of this?
