Also wish they would get rid of the stage. It's disappointing to see that in Shanghai and HKDL they're doubling down on a large stage area directly in front of the castle.
As in many things, DLP handles this best with the placement of the stage off to the side of the castle:

Where would they stage the yearly Christmas televised show then with the irrelevant and inactive artists that they invite to perform?Also wish they would get rid of the stage. It's disappointing to see that in Shanghai and HKDL they're doubling down on a large stage area directly in front of the castle.

Nope Magic Kingdom. If you look at the lineup of performers and hosts yearly they usually get the artists who are not really relevant or careers that have not been that active. Yes, you see some huge name but rarely. You don't see the cream of the crop of the music industry performing. Maybe in the 50th we could get something on a Beyonce level.

I prefer the 50th Anniversary to be similar to DL's 50th Anniversary or WDW's 25th Anniversary (minus the castle cake).

That was so long ago when she was just starting her solo and post Destiny's Child. You wouldn't be able to book her now with how big she has become. Anyways I was just using her as an example of A-listers.

It was certainly early in her career, but that doesn’t make her inactive or irrelevant.
Compared to the Christmas Parades of the 80s/90s...... that's a good way to put it! Am I the only one one that loves the stage?!? Granted they could go with a temp one like TDL with bigger shows!

Just came across this video of Cinderella Castle for their old Christmas Show "Sparkling Christmas Spectacular" from 1994. The castle without the stage looks more natural.

They sure are moving quickly with the castle repainting. Looks like the main tower is almost done!
I sure hope that the current paints will be the undercoats because those are not the shades presented in the concept art...

Yeah, if they want to match the concept art, the blue needs to be darker and the pink needs to be lighter. Much lighter. Though now that it covers more of the castle, I don't hate this color scheme. But those gold accents would be much easier to see if they toned down the pink.
