PHOTO - Monsters University characters now appearing on the monorail

Thought maybe a few monsters here and there would be kind of cool. After seeing them all bunched up like the balloons I'm not so sure.

I seem to be in the minority so far in this thread, but I hate these with a burning passion. This is the turning point when the wraps/monorail-as-billboard go from being an every-so-often to a regular thing. IMHO, these look like a cheap bus wrap, or any average billboard, and the fact they're above the 'WDW Monorail System' on the skirt makes it worse for me. These are not the creative wraps they've done so far.

Not to mention the fact it used to be when you entered Disney property, you were in a relaxing place, away from visual intrusion and advertising clutter. There were specifically spaced billboards advertising only Disney related attractions and venues on major roadways, but they were spaced apart and designed to give a specific emotional feel to the property, while building anticipation for the adventures that were coming. The monorail billboards are reducing the monorail to an any-city bus, assaulting the senses with not-so-creative advertising clutter, which is sad. Because we're used to seeing all of this every day, everywhere, people don't realize what we're losing...they just think "oh, cool, Disney's doing it (slightly) better with characters I like!" instead of thinking about the fact WDW is becoming more and more exactly like the place you left to get away from.

@articos I completely agree. I also think shows how little Walt Disney World is thought of throughout the Company. The Studio has no respect for even suggesting these and the Resort has no respect for accepting instead of being insulted. When do we get the Disney Princess wrap? Or the ESPN wrap?

When do they take out the castle, because it's "tacky anyway and we can fit some primo marketing in there"

Monorail Wraps = Fail

They don't do a thing to add ambiance to the parks, they don't raise awareness of Walt Disney World, and they are becoming increasingly tacky. When a typical 3 night trip costs a family of TWO a couple thousand dollars, why is WDW needing to advertise stuff like this? Are they hurting for money? I don't pay to go to WDW so they can jam advertising down my throat...especially using the beautiful Monorails. You don't need to tie everything on property to a movie.

To use your own logic and your own words, how will your monorail ride be any different?

If you can use that logic as a retort to those who like the wraps, it is equally valid as a retort to your hatred of them.

At this juncture, I feel it prudent to mention that I have patented the following words - "use", "wrap", and "doggerel". I see a lot of posters who will be paying some royalties.

This is the first wrap that I like, if only because the design creates context for the wrap existing.
It's less of a city bus billboard than the Avengers one.
